is that it one goal, would have thought they would have run riot to be honest!!!

Iraq have played quite well. Miles better than NZ anyway.

Just got back from the Brazil - USA game. Too easy for Brazil, but Maicon was especially impressive. I wonder how much more it would take to get him than we're paying for Johnson.

Kaka was good to watch and seemed to be enjoying himself out there.

I bought my nephew a vuvuzela...

I'd think we could get Maicon for less than Johnson . . He looked impressive on the tv too

Egypt beat current World Champions Italy.
Just felt like mentioning it...

And to think the majority of their players are based in their homeland. Not exactly one of the leagues that springs to mind if you're having a debate about the best leagues. And their most well-known players Mido and Zaki aren't even there too.

Tbh, it doesn't seem like the Italians are taking this tourney too seriously. They were bloody lucky to beat the US, considering the US had the goal and two really good chances before Rossi and De Rossi scored long range beauts ... I wouldn't underestimate the Italians next year, especially with Lippi manning the ship.

It's great, isn't it? I have a number of Maltese relatives who are all fans of Italian football in general (Juve in particular) and like looking down their noses at England and English football. Well, I've been rubbing those noses in camel-sh!t good and hard this morning. 8)

They need to replace some of the old guard. I think some of their reserve players are better than the first-teamers atm, but I think it's Lippi's loyalty to players that won him the World Cup is hampering their progress. Even though it was a poor Northern Irish side they played some of their reserve players like Rossi, Foggia and Santon showed what they where capable of, and that was lovely, neat football.

If Egypt had of gained a draw against Brazil it would have been fully deserved. They where unlucky.

I agree with that ... It's what cost Italy the world cup in '94, albeit with Zoff ... There's no way Rossi and Santon shouldn't be playing considering their club form ...

Reina, Riera, Arbeloa & Torres all start for Spain v South Africa.
[/quote]Amazing isnt it. 5 of the European champions play for us. WOW.
Hope Pepe has a great game.

Fuck i wish our lads werent playing now, these cunts are brutal. Torres, Villa and Cesc have been smashed in the air already.

This has been one of the worst 'set piece' exhibitions ive ever seen.
Not one decent corner or free kick since the 1st minute (riera) just waste after waste by both teams.

I have no idea if a players performances would impress or deteriorate knowing what's to come when they get subbed.
