I always thought he was a second/centre forward, I'm probably splitting hairs but he was always here doing the donkey work for others, I've always maintained a standard return for a good centre forward is about 12 goals a season. His record for us was - 14,11,15,11,15,5 (an average of just under 12 a season).

I always thought he was brought in as a 'better' version of Crouch. I agree that we probably didn't get what we were expecting, in one way or another, but he fashioned himself into a success and he worked well with other players - Gerrard, Suarez, Torres..
