This guy has a lot of hype but hasnt set the world alight, kinda reminds me of torres. His release cause is 100 million but with 18 months length could be available for less.

Did you ever see Torres play before he arrived here for either Spain or A.Madrid ? - at the time when we signed him I could not believe we actually did sign the guy, it was huge to me - before he arrived he was the closest thing I had ever seen to the Brazilian Ronaldo in terms of his pace, power, and skills. We got him for £20M I think - which in my view was an absolute bargain - to this day I have no idea how we pulled that transfer through. The guy never exceeded my expectations he just did what I knew he was going to do.

The real Ronaldo had more pace, power, skills, and scored a fuck of a load more goals the moment he started playing in Europe at a very early age, be it Holland or Spain. Torres never scored as many goals in Spain as he did at Liverpool.

Have heard him talked about a lot but never seen him knowingly. What type of striker?

Closest comparison is probably Torres, quick, strong, likes to play off the shoulder and run the channels between CB and fullback. Good one on one with the keeper. In the right team he could be a very effective striker but he wont create his own chances and not the type who would unlock a well drilled back four. He needs those sort of through passes that Torres/Owen used to thrive on to run into space.

Hes only 22 so its likely some aspects of his game like holding up the ball and timing his runs. I dont think hes a superstar in the making like Mbappe, hes technique isnt on that level but with a good coach and in the right team he could become a top class centre forward like Lewandowski

Thats because Torres never played in an athletico team that was one of the top teams ... by his own admission they had to sell him because they were desperate for the money at the time. Ronaldo of Brazil is my best player of all time but he did have the benefit of playing for the main challengers of each of the European leagues he played for. I do not make that comparison with the man from Brazil lightly.

I think Lewandowski has more about him, Werner is good, but I don’t see him reaching that level. Agree with the rest of your post.

He probably wont, Lewandowski is a great player and arguably the template for the type of forward Klopp builds his attack around. Hes one of those players thats squeezed every drop abikity out of his talents. That said hes kind of like the best case scenario for how Werner ends up, he doesnt have the skill/talent level to go any higher than that.

I think I'll just go along with whoever Klopp goes for since he's got a pretty damn good record so far!
