I think it was clear that neither side were up to speed. Both lacked sharpness.
On our side of the fence. Trent, Fab, Firmino, Hendo all looked particularly leggy.
Disappointing we didn't win but it was still a good sign how much stronger we got as the game went on. I think that showed we are closer to being ready than they are.
I saw the highlights and I thought Becker did quite well. Yes, the goal was his fault, but he made some massive saves that neither Ming or Karius could ever save.
I think that the performance was positive , Salah could've had a hat trick and attacking wise we were alot sharper overall. In my opinion that performance bodes well for Friday , very well

Indeed, City scored from some ridiculous defending from TAA and some naivety from Salah, they didn't look likely outside of that (Sterling chance don't count as City were being scumbags, and VAR would have pulled it back anyway). We on the other hand should have scored 4 or 5, very positive game.
Winning would have been nice but would fundamentally have meant zip. Losing wasn't nice but was equally devoid of any real meaning. Bring on the league.
Just watched the highlights, we were all over them, I didn't realise just how close some of our chances were, and how little they really created, despite their prolonged periods of having the ball and doing sweet FA with it..............
FFS, way to miss the point- we fucking dominated those stats. Every neutral ground nominates a home and away team for lots of practical reasons. Why in the name of fuck does it matter, and why should it 'hurt your eyes'?
So much for Dreamy's easy win prediction. We dominated much of the game, and hardly gave them a kick in the second half. That was good.
