Fucking legend if you ask me.
Right back, centre back, left back..it doesn't matter where he plays he's just a beast of a player.

Anyone else a fan?

We've had a decent record against them over the years, and he's actually had one or two relatively poor games against us.

Still a good player though.
 
Would he still be first choice is he wasn't a catalan? (That's a serious question).

He's always seemed average to me, maybe I've not seen enough.

Puyol has been a great defender for Barca and Barca's searching for his replacement now. And that is Agger.

I love David Healy. When Spain took the lead in the 2nd half I put £5 on NI to win the game at 100/1 and when NI equalised I couldn't believe they were still 40/1 to win the game so I stuck another £20 on. David Healy rocked my world.

You don't win that with average defenders.

Puyol may not be your flashy technically gifted defender like Pique, Nesta, Maldini ... but he is one hell of a player when it comes to physicality.... plus he can do the job anywhere across defence.

He is prone to the odd accident here and there, but its nothing compared to his overall contribution to the side.

I think previously his goalkeeping was questionable.

But he seems to have really come of age this season... making very few mistakes, and becoming more assured.

Had he not improved so much over the past 2 seasons, I could definitely seen Barca making a move for Reina
 
He has matured into a much better keeper in the last couple of years to the point where I'd be reluctant to single him out as Barca's weak point as I used to and others still do. He still has the odd mistake in him, but they've been cut down a lot. Of course, there is room to argue that Barca have geen defending better in general, which has had an effect.

England were just dreadful though. It was almost a pedestrian win- they didn't threaten at all. The Spain match was as if fairy dust had been sprinkled over Windsor Park- a cracking game where we took it to and beat a team destined to develop into the best in Europe.
