We're going to be screwed until we sign new players in the summer anyway. Debating what solution is a bit less shit is pointless.

Thats very true. But one thing we hopefully all agree upon is that its madness to sell your best and only world class player.

Very good player playing in a poorly playing team, doesnt score enough for his ability IMO but he would defo do better if the team around him were better.

Aside from that a bit of a selfish cunt, I thought he let us down with his behaviour this season, inadvertently or otherwise, but definitely a born winner.

Our problem is not Suarez it´s the others.... 6 goals from Downing, Adam, Hendo.... what a horrific waste of money, well, at least so far.

Yes lets sell Suarez and keep Kuyt. Problem solved

?

selling Suarez would be a blunder.

Actually checking up on that list above, Ive been watching Levante all season and Kone has been absolutely superb for them, would be cheap too. Lost his way at Sevilla through injuries but has been a revelation this season big powerful and scores goals.

Failure and I think we're now paying the price of the sad Suarez saga.
If PSG offer us 40 million Euro, Id sell him in a heart beat

We need world class players ... if we sell him we'd only get in two more 'Downings' so FFS let's keep him and give him a class act to play alongside.

Suarez is a GREAT player, he's not a clinical finisher, nor is Kuyt, but they'd be two of the last players I'd be looking at selling. If he played upfront in that front three for City he'd be part of a formidable frontline. As it is, he's playing amongst dross or being stuck with a different partner, in a different system each week.

He's World Class, the goals argument is neither here nor there, we need a finisher and I got laughed at for saying that when we signed him, he's never looked a natural finisher, but he'll weigh in with what would be considered enough, if we had other players around him scoring aswell. The burden is very much on him because he's the only player we've had in the last season who's looked capable of getting 10+. Other players like Kuyt and Maxi who are capable of a fair amount of goals have been benched or fucked around too much this season for stats to be given much credence.

id sell suarez if we got a ridiculous offer, i mean newcastle did it with andy carrol and look at them. the only problem is kenny and damien might spend that money on buying the cast of emmerdale for a team

Good post Mark. The only thing I dont agree with you on is Kuyt. He's started 19 league games and been brought on as a sub 9 times and managed 2 goals.
Thats really poor from a player of his calibre. The few games Kenny has played him on the left though I have every sympathy for him when he's struggled a bit.

Maxi on the other hand has been involved in 7 league games from 31 possible. Thats just insane, and has probably cost us at least 6-9 points in goals.

I think the whole team is suffering from that we have no set tactic and swap and change nearly every match. The players look as confused as the fans. Its not good.

Our iffy transfer record isn't the only problem about selling Luis Suarez though. Every single club or manager out there makes mistakes in the market. Besides, we know that (a) Luis Suarez can do the biz for us and (b) anyone else we may now fetch in will need players of Suarez' calibre around them if we're going to get back to the top. Last but not least, if I were a top player in whom Liverpool expressed an interest but at the same time I saw them selling Luis Suarez, I'd be telling myself "this club is at least halfway to accepting that they're second-raters now" and that would put me right off.

Anyone who thinks we should sell Suarez is mental IMO. We have around four or five players we should not be thinking of selling and he is one of them. On the other hand I believe that Dirk's time is up

He should play either on the left in a 4-3-3 or with a striker partner in a 4-4-2. But that someone should be totally different player than Andy Carroll. Someone like Tevez or Adebayor are a much better match.

IMO the 4-4-2 option is far preferable. I don't like the idea of tying Suarez to a set position on the left, and I doubt it would work out anyway. He'd be forever wanting to roam, and he's at his best when he does.

We were linked with Adebayor in one or two of the papers a few days ago BTW.

If we played the 4231 that was effective in past - when would be ideal in the centre of the 3 with license to roam. Kind of the roll Gerrard played when we had Torres up front.

Unfortunately we lack the other 3 players in the attacking 4.

suarez needs to play wide in a front three, I personally think he shouldn't be played through the middle as he doesn't seem prolific enough to warrent leading the line.

He shouldn't play any fixed position, either wide or central. He should be set free to do what Shanks told Keegan once, "go on out there and drop grenades all over the pitch".
