Can we discuss Suarez the LFC Player, opinon?

It's a strange one.

His talent and application suggests he deserves to be playing alongside better players and arguably a better club than us, but he does owe us for sticking with him through everything and he's not delivering at the moment.

Eventually someone decent will come along and pluck him from us.

I didn't say he was a problem, he's by fucking miles the most tricky little bastard in our squad. I mean no one else can touch his ability to make defenders fall on their arse, but what I've seen of him since he came tells me he should be on the wing. Any wing. And we should have someone in the middle who knows how to shoot on target - which for now means Gerrard and / or Kuyt.

He's a 1 in 4 striker - which is to say he isn't a striker at all. We need a goalscorer.

Despite having such an average year - and harassed non-stop - he's going to get 10-15 goals and 10-15 assists. That's fine considering how piss poor our team has been overall. To not call him a striker, based on this year, shows you clearly understand football at a far higher level most of us.

Odd, Suarez scores 1 in 3 or so (13 in 39) and you want Kuyt up front, who scored 51 goals in 202 games for us. I see the light.

As for the stats, wiki says he has 11 in 39, not 13 in 39. Anyways, either way it's not a decent striker's return.

For Kuyt - where has he played the majority of those games? He's got 1 in 4 from a much deeper position.

Our main problem is scoring goals.

Suarez is a poor finisher.

How is he not part of the problem ?

Are you honestly implying we should be getting rid of our most creative player who's had the carry this team on his back the whole year? I don't know if that's the reason he's not scored at the same rate he's scored at every other club (between 1 in 2.5 or so at worst), but put him in a team that doesn't rely on him 100% of the time for most of its positive plays in the final third of the pitch, and I think the 1 in 3 would become 1 in 2, which is fine.

You're right. I'm with Ross. Let's flog him to Juve for 40 and buy two more Downings to cross the ball to Carroll. Bound to work next year! Ole!

I'm not implying anything.

I merely stated that to say an awful finisher isn't part of the problem , when we can't score goals, is retarded.

Saying he's an 'awful finisher' is like saying Torres is an 'awful finisher.' Suarez has had a poor year, but I think he can do much much better if he wasn't relied upon to be the sole goalscoring threat (which he is with us as we can't really expect goals from Downing, Carroll, Adam etc ... and Stevie G barely plays)

What a really fucking stupid cunt of a post.

I concur ... as stupid as forgetting Kuyt's first season with Liverpool, where he only playing up front, and the magnificent return (something like 1 in 4). Let's put him up front though. I'm with you.

(Now if you put him up front with Suarez in a 4-4-2, that may work ... but by himself? meh).

Poor finisher has to be the worst description ever.

Its like the experts and ex players have been saying all season, if he didnt have to create every chance himself he would have scored a lot more goals.
I predict plenty more goals next season.

Andy Cole got stick for needing six or seven chances to score a goal.

Our "world class" Suarez needs fifteen fucking chances to score a goal.

What description would you put on him Hansern ? Unlucky ?

His stats at Ajax were 0.15% shot to goal, and that's what he is for Uruguay. For us he's currently half that. Whether that's because of better keepers / defenders here or because he's been out of form is up for debate but he was never a Torres wherever he's been (23% when he was here)

The Dutch league and International competitions contain some truly dreadful sides, so it wouldn't be surprising for his ratio to drop a bit in the Premiership but not by that much

15 in 43 is not 1 in 4. I don't know why you're bothering with this,

Kuyt got 12 in 34 apperances in the Premier League in 06/07. I didn't even know it was that high.

Suarez has 12 goals and 7 assists in 32 games this season Ross. Thats a goal every 0.4ish games which isnt bad. Its certainly not the work of a poor finisher.
You're mental in this thread.

The league is all that matters, and he's being outscored by Grant Holt.

he must be world class too

Looking at that table I posted - I mean Newcastle buying Cisse was a no brainer. But why aren't we buying Novakovic? He's 32. - but that Caicedo went to Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer and he's got 8 in 15 for them now.

DAMIAN? Are you reading this you lizard fuckwad?

Novakovic has scored 3 or 4 goals this season and been so shite that he's now not even the squad for the upcoming games...

It doesnt always work mate... 🙂

Yeah, as I say he's 32. The other kid Caicedo is 23 and went for €7.5m and is currently hitting at 1 in 2. this season. I mean for fucks sake.
