Expecting an improvement after spending £100M is not expecting 'instant success'. There are good points made by both sides, but throwing around lazy, fictitious lines like that isn't good for anyone, nor the forum. It's the Kenny camp which is most guilty of it.

Not as guilty as those starting threads at half time in a game.
Thank fuck they weren't at the match Saturday ya know"supporting the team".

Yet conveniently missing out the fact we sold our main goals scorer for 50m and we've INVESTED 30m in the team. Or expecting several new players to gel instantly. It's a complete lack of reality, scope of the bigger picture or even a clue that leads to a desire for instant success. And what's lazy or fictitious about those words? Do explain, genius. It's actually posts like yours drawing lines and declaring there's camps and guilt that isn't good for anyone or the forum. Shame you can't see that.

That's something quite different, but equally shitty. Everyone seems more concerned with antagonizing others, rather than getting a decent point heard.

Net spend or not, we've wasted ridiculous amounts of money.

And you're as " guilty " of that as every one else - we all have our moments. Oh, just to let you know. We can see deleted posts also.

we spent badly, yes. Show me a manager who hasn't. You're kind of proving my point though - you expect that money should have been spent better without fully knowing who are primary targets were. You also expect that the money spent on those players should have brought more instantaneous results.

I can't recall a manager buying as badly in one transfer window as Kenny did last summer.

As for you sorta suggesting Downing, Henderson. Adam etc weren't our primary targets, that doesn't justify spending some £40m on Henderson and Downing. We could've bought McCarthy at Wigan and Jarvis at Wolves and they wouldn't have cost anywhere near as much yet would they have done any worse? No chance.

I wasn't expecting anything instantaneous from them, players need time to settle but we're into April now and they're still shit.

I'm suggesting that, yes apart from Henderson, who's still a kid and was bought for the future and didnt cost 16m anyway. It was 12 rising to 16 as far as i know. Downing was 16. McCarthy could have came here before and turned us down and you've no idea how players like Jarvis would have turned out here in the slightest. Look at how well Adam did at a small team and how he got on at a bigger club with more pressure. I'm not denying they haven't been successes but I still think it needs time. As for other managers spending badly - Diao, Diouf and Cheyrou.

Jarvis sweet jaysus

He's better than Downing and would've cost half the fee Downing did.

Btw i'm not saying we should have signed him, but if we're looking at average British players then i'd prefer to go for the ones that aren't going to cost double what they're actually worth.

I wont lie, with the money spent I was expecting to challenge for a top 4 position until at least may but given the turnover of so many players in the summer this was maybe optimsitic. I didn't expect a total collaspe but the lose to arsenal must have hit the team really hard and shattered what little confidence they had.

In terms of amounts maybe not, but then we've not had that amount very often!

In terms of success rate, 2002 and 2008 were two that spring to mind.

Yet another game we deserved to get more out of. You make your own luck of course
