Yeah but if we don't run out and get a proper #9 then this squad looks great passing the ball around, but ultimately it's all fart and no arse.

Indeed. The one thing that bothered me from the start getting Rodgers, as Swansea’s biggest flaw was lack of goals.

I fucking hope we have a striker or two who can find the back of the net lined up in light of this. That 80k week saved is worth fuck all otherwise.

If one can play as wing forward & centre forward it'll do too tbh.

I'm hoping we'll see a versatile forward & dedicated striker, both of whom know where the back of the net is.

But we have no one that fits the bill. Suarez and Borini can't be the front man.

From the West Ham official site:

"West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of England striker Andy Carroll on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old has moved to the Boleyn Ground from Liverpool for the remainder of the 2012/13 Barclays Premier League campaign, with the Hammers having the option to complete a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee next summer."

I can't help but think that the safe in Upton Park contains little more than a bag of magic beans and pictures of Karen Bradey on the toilet.

If there's £17M in there I'll be very happy.

Don't think i's possible. It was just a loan deal, we didn't really benefit from it. (unless we can loan a top class striker)

The report yesterday stated he'll be allowed to spend the Carroll cash from this deal in this window in anticipation of receiving that next season as a minimum fee. So if the figure is 17m we've agreed he'll get that to spend now.
