Benteke

Well we were lucky that we had Owen and Fowler for several years too, Torres and Suarez are two of the greatest strikers to grace the Premiership, Heskey was unplayable for 2 seasons, Collymore had a great season but was a mentalist. Crouch, Kuyt, Riedle, Camara and Bellamy were good, modest buys too. Benteke, Carroll, Diouf and Cisse were poor though. And expensive.

There's also Dean Saunders, Nigel Clough and Fernando Morientes, who you would put in the flop category.

I liked Crouch, Kuyt, Riedle, Camara and Bellamy but if Klopp spent a huge fortune and bought a striker of their class, I don't think it will solve our problem of having to rely on Sturridge.

We were so incredibly lucky to have Fowler and Owen, weren't we?

Snap him up. I'd seriously consider offering £40m for him. Sell benteke for £20-25m. Lacazette would fit so well into klopp's team.
Benteke's value would have taken a huge hit this season. Unlikely to exceed 15m if sold this summer in PL or Serie A. Keep or sell; it's a no win situation for Liverpool really, unless China comes calling.

Why would Lacazette fit so well?
He's massively reliant on a 4-4-2 formation to be seen even close to his best.

He's not been getting a lot of sympathy on the radio either. I've heard people saying much the same as you on both FiveLive and TalkSh!te.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ings back in the fray. I think he will score goals and be a good foil for Benteke who I think we should keep for at least another season. Rotating both of these players with Sturridge and Origi would be optimum for me. I see no need to go out and speculate on a further striker.

I think the majority of spending should be in the midfield area and a better goalkeeper.

Benteke's only been here for 5 minutes.

He's pissed off cos Origi will start in the euros ahead of him. Deservedly so as well

I'd be pissed off too if my place was taken by a player with 2 Premiership goals and three International goals in his entire career so far.
Origi's done nothing to suggest he should be first choice in any team.

And never will in my opinion. Another awful striker.

He runs a lot more though, does the whole playing for the team thing. Lukaku is better than both

I don't see what Icardi offers that we wouldn't already get from Ings personally.

How do you know what we'd get from Ings? He's scored 3 goals for Liverpool and has 13 Premiership goals in total in his career.

I quite like Ings, but I'm in no way confident enough to compare him to anyone else on the evidence so far, which is, just to reiterate, pretty much fuck all.

I only see Ings as a backup striker as i think we need better than him as the main striker. Its just whenever i've seen Icardi play he just reminds me of Ings in terms of his work rate, how he likes to drop deep to link up play and being good around the box.

If I were Benteke, I'd be concerned if I kept missing basic chances and chronically giving possession away by being off side before moaning about being left out of the starting line-up. The truth is much closer to home than he thinks, if he thinks at all.

Yep, Wilmots confirmed he's sent home. Thigh injury, so I'm guessing a hamstring.

Benteke also a doubt for Tuesdays game with a knee injury.

Fuck these international friendlies.
