Babel looked shitscared to me. I think he raised his hands to stop the big man shouting at him.
totally. it was a fucking joke of a decision as the big benfica cunt was being very aggressive and at least should have followed babel off the pitch.

Agreed.

If you are going to get the red, at least do something worthwhile.

The ref should definitely have had an ounce of perspective and given a yellow, I've just seen the replay a bunch, and it's a yellow 99.9% of the time, but given the situation, it was a retarded thing to do.

Watched it again, and TO ADD INSULT Luisao kept pushing on at Babel, and was pushing through the referee as well...

So he's barking, pushing through the ref, and committed the original foul and Babel gets the red.

Are you fecking kidding me?

Good news about Insua's suspension. Well, it would be if we had another fit LB.
We could bring back Dossena on loan for a game?

I definately think the other guy should have walked as well. so babel gets a red for a girly facepalm and the benfica player get a yellow for hacking down a player? gotta laugh

Actually, Skrtel hardly showered himself in glory at the RB spot.. Maybe Agger'll be the same? Perhaps Jamie at LB?

Yep, the more you watch it, the less just it is, I must say. The thing is, Babel provoked him by putting his hands on his face, which was thick.

Forget what happened to Babel for a moment, and the Benfica guy should have got 2 yellows.

Including what happened to Babel, the Benfica guy should have got a straight red
Yeah but he didn't raise his hands did he. You can be incredulous all you like, but we all know the rules. It's in them. Just because most refs don't enforce it doesn't mean you can do it a foot from him in a heated situation. Brainless.

Fuck off we were done there.
He sent Babel off for fuck all yet that Luisao cunt stays on for a big, brute of a kick on Torres
and then scraps with Babel afterwards yet he only gets a yellow.

FUCK RIGHT OFF

Sending-off offences (red card)
A player, substitute or substituted player is dismissed from the field of play and shown the red card if he/she commits any of the following offences:

Serious foul play
Violent conduct
Use of abusive language and/or gestures
Spitting at an opponent or any other person
Denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper inside his/her own penalty area)
Denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick (known as a professional foul)
Receiving a second caution (yellow card) in the same match
A player, substitute or substituted player who has been dismissed and shown the red card may not remain on or in the vicinity of the field of play or the technical area. Generally, a player who has been dismissed will be expected to proceed to the dressing room immediately.

Andy, did Babel do any of these things? I'm finding this red card hard to prove.

Babel nearly had the head taken off him earlier in the game with a far more dangerous challenge. Yet a hand on the mouth is deemed a red. Ridiculous!

Hey guys can someone help me out..?

Houlier, Daglish or Moyes.. Which one hasn't managed Liverpool? Channel 5 Competitions are getting difficult!

I don't get that red card - what an odd call. And for all those cursing him out, ridiculous. He did nothing aggressive and defended our best player and he gets shat on. Give it up.

Ref seems to bit 'high'

Grand, if he's going to be strict, then give Babel a red, and Luisao a yellow for the foul and a yellow for going at Babel, pushing the Ref, etc. Or a straight red for hacking Torres.

Trouble is he's gone strict with babel, but not with Luisao.

If anyone has a go with Babel, they have to go through me 😉
