Liverpool target Alex Teixeira is "incredible" and worth £38million valuation says Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu

Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu has hailed "incredible" Liverpool target Alex Teixeira and says he believes the Brazilian is worth the £38million that the Ukrainian club want to sell their star man.
The Reds have been in talks with Shakhtar over a move for their free-scoring forward, who has 26 goals already this season.
Ian Ayre flew to Orlando - where Shakhtar are on a winter break - last week, in a bid to thrash out a deal, but after seeing their initial offer rejected, Liverpool's revised £28million offer was also dismissed this week.
Teixeira, 26, has declared his desire to move this month, after six years in Ukraine, and Chelsea are also believed to be keen - although they're set to sign Alexandre Pato.
But Miners chief Lucescu says his side will be holding out for closer to their valuation and believes that he'll prove himself to be a better player than British record signing Angel Di Maria.

"He's worth €50million," declared Lucescu, speaking to FourFourTwo.
"He's incredible, very fast, very good technique. I compare him with other players of the same age who changed [the fortunes of] a club, Di Maria for example at Paris Saint Germain.
"Teixeira can be at the same level, better even. He doesn't get injured, and every year he gets better and better."

Value: Teixeira is rated at £38million by his club

PROFILE: Who is Alex Teixeira?
Lucescu is used to selling the club's star players, having seen the likes of Willian(Chelsea, via Anzhi Machhachkala), Fernandinho (Manchester City) and latterly Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich) all leave in recent years.
But Teixeira's valuation would make him the Miners' highest ever sale - if suitors arrive at that price.
"Our president knows when it is the time for Teixeira to go," added Lucescu.
"I don't want to keep a player against his desire. He wants to play in a big championship."

t seems that Alex Teixeira is the next Ukraine based prodigy that Liverpool have decided to embarrass themselves over and I for one think him and Hazard will forge a great partnership next season. But in all serious, Liverpool really shouldn’t add Teixeira to the list of Mhkityran and Konoplyanka of Ukranian Premier League players Liverpool have totally messed up transfers for within the past 2 years. Those god damn Ukrainian League owners have the sheer cheek to not lower THEIR valuation to what WE want to pay? They’re nearly as bad as demanding £49 million for a slightly-above-average 19 year old! Insanity.
If we really want him, then we should pay up. Simple. My first point that took some intense thinking for paying full price is that Alex Teixeira is really really good at football. They say that you can’t read too much in to the stats of a footballer, but Teixeira’s simply cannot be ignored. After scoring 26 goals in 26 games this season, there’s little wonder why some of Europe’s biggest clubs are looking to secure the 26 year old Brazilians services. He has genuinely scored 22 goals in 15 games in the Ukranian Premier League. The man is a machine. Of course, the Ukrainian League is by no means the strongest league in the world but the player closest to him has scored 10 goals… in 16 games. Let’s have a look at some of the other biggest names to come from Ukraine have fared. For a starters Teixeira has scored more league goals this season in 15 games for the same team than Willian did in his whole Shakhtar career spanning 109 games. However, in fairness Willian is a winger so a more apt comparison would be Mkhitryan. The Dortmund man had a season that was regarded of one of the best ever in Ukrainian football. He scored 25 goals in 26 games which is very respectable indeed. Alex Teixeira current stand with 22 goals. He is averaging 1.47 goals a game. There are 10 games left of his season. I’ll leave the maths to you. Regardless of strength of the league he most definitely knows where the net is.

There’s a bit of a samba theme running on Merseyside at the moment and I’m sure it does no harm owning his national compatriots in Coutinho and co. He also has the chance to go down in to the history books right next to LFC legends Doni and Fabio Aurelio. The most important piece of the Brazilian trio we currently have is probably Lucas. Lucas had a huge hand in the signing of Coutinho and Firmino by persuading them both to come, while he was also a factor in why Suarez gave us another season. Rumour has it Lucas can be a very persuasive man… Anyways, it’s for this reason that makes the transfer significantly less of a risk as settling in will be far easier with the likes of Lucas and co which is definitely an important point as we have seen time and time again players fail to adapt to the Premier League. Yep, especially us Liverpool fans. This is not to mention a front 3 of Alex, Bobby and Phil is quite simply mouth-watering, I would go as far to say not only the best front three in the league but definitely top 10 in the world. Oh, and them 3 behind that guy who plays every now and then would be quite decent. I forget his name.
As with Firmino, Coutinho and Lallana, Teixeira can slot in to any of the forward roles. The flexibility we’d have would be amazing, not to mention the fluidity in play as all our forwards are technically gifted. And then there’s Benteke. I’m definitively convinced Teixiera is about a perfect fit for us as we’re going to get. The player is literally begging for a move. For the first time in a while a big foreign player WANTS Liverpool. Ah, the Klopp affect. His desire to play for his national team is unmatched which if any of this willing and desire is translated on to the pitch he will fit our soon to be gegenpressing style perfectly.
There will always be the argument that he can’t be that good is he is uncapped however there are some things many people do not know. The Brazil national team is not picked by the coach but quite ridiculously by the sponsors. The most marketable players are chosen which has subsequently lead to players Hulk being a mainstay in that team, which is arguably the worst it has ever been. I would go as far to suggest that he is only in the team because is name is Hulk. I much rather have Teixeira on any given day of the week.

Finally to round up, there are 3 words that I am sure can convince you that Teixeira is worth the substantial amount. Andy fucking Carroll. No more will big Andy be the record signing only to be replaced by an exotic Brazilian centre forward entering the peak of his career.
Of course, I am not suggesting that he will come to Liverpool and be instantly the best player in the world. There is a definite risk factor but there will be with any transfer. Personally I think he would be worth it in todays inflated market, but understand people’s hesitance. Let’s be honest, Ian Ayre is on the case. Anything could happen.

A little OTT from the chairman to comapre him to di maria, who has played in a champions league and world cup final

Sorry not at that price. That's just silly money for someone unproven in a top league.

Relax. It'll be about 27m up front and the rest in add ons dependent on success.

If we end up paying 38m for him he'd have proved his worth at least that amount.

Of course, the media will likely immediately bang on about 38m Teixeira like they do with "29m Firmino" but we don't have to buy into that agenda crap.

I hope we get the sexy little goalscoring fucker.

My tent will remain until the bitter end, but its looking pretty clear this isnt going to happen.

There is no movement RE Alex Teixeira. #LFC have made the one offer and the valuations with Shakhtar are miles apart. (Tony Barrett)

100%

Well that's the end of that then. I think we'll walk away and possibly try again in the summer and try get him for cheaper.

God knows if World Soccer talk is any good. Doubtful but anyhoo:

Liverpool target Alex Teixeira hands in transfer request to Shakhtar Donetsk, says source Posted on January 27, 2016 by Christopher Harris

Liverpool target Alex Teixeira has handed in a transfer request to Shakhtar Donetsk, a source has revealed to World Soccer Talk.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder has been a transfer target for Liverpool during the January transfer window. There have been reports in the British media that the Reds made an offer of £28 million for the talented footballer who has been with Shakhtar Donetsk since 2010. However, the same British tabloids say that the Ukrainian club value him at £38 million. With Teixeira handing in a transfer request to force through a move, it’ll be interesting to see how quickly a deal can be made by Liverpool before another club makes an offer. Alex Teixeira has yet to play for Brazil’s senior team, but Dunga should be giving him his first cap soon. A vice-captain at Shakhtar, who currently have 10 Brazilians on their team, Teixeira is in the midst of his breakout season. Alex has used his creativity, pace and composure in front of goal to currently have 26 finishes in 25 appearances for the Miners.

The attacking midfielder and winger is already gaining interest from some of the big clubs in Europe. “What I’ve heard and what my agent has said is that Chelsea, Juventus and PSG have made offers, but Chelsea and Juventus have gone further in the negotiations. All three are big clubs. Wherever I’ll end up, I’ll be happy,” said Teixeira to Lance!, a Brazilian newspaper. Read more at: https://tr.im/15Glz
