From BBC:
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on his side's 2-0 defeat by Liverpool "It looks like both goals were offside. The referees are (supposed to be) professional."
I didn't see the game, but how can a OG be offside?
I see Arsene's eyesight has improved no end

Just a few observations:

1. The mood on here is weirdly subdued and negative considering WE'VE JUST BEATEN ARSENAL AWAY 2-0 IN OUR SECOND GAME OF THE SEASON. Fucking hell, people, you're allowed to celebrate a little!

2. Last week, we played some lovely football, should have won easily, and ended up with a draw; that was depressing. This week, we played solid disciplined but unexciting football, and *won*. I'll take winning football any fucking day over the pretty-but-winless stuff. Personally, I think it's hugely encouraging that we can play within ourselves and BEAT ARSENAL AWAY.

3. It's true that we looked miles better when Ming and Suarez came on, and personally I do rate them higher than Kuyt and Carroll, but it shouldn't be forgotten that they came on when Arsenal went down to ten men. Therefore there was much more space out there for them to work their magic. All in all, it was a brilliantly timed double-substitution.

4. WE WON!

Yay, The Bunnyman, you're absolutely correct.
Sven was on here the other day so his negativity is probably still lingering.
There are also posters that prefer to be right and wind up others rather than celebrating a Liverpool win against probably the team that will battle for 4th.

The Dirkilizer wasn't good, I'll concede.

But, we all know he comes good.

That floyd person that said he should never play for us again is talking poo.
In the past we played him no matter how he was playing and eventually he'd pop up with a goal, he would keep his position even though he would be rubbish for a good number of games. But now we have a good squad with plenty off quality and we don't need to keep playing Kuyt until he eventually comes good, his bad patches last forever and we need to look to bring someone else in or use Kuyt sparingly as he shouldn't be playing in a team that is hoping to challenge for the title.

You do realise the statement "his bad patches last forever" doesn't actually make sense ?

My point was that the notion that he should never play for us again is hysterical, wrong and shit.

If we're going 4-4-2 at home, maybe time to try Johnson ahead of Kelly on the right flank.
no no no no nononononononononononononnoooooooooo

i'd rather play maxi at RM than kuyt. And IMO hendo is still coming into it slowly. Today was much more assured. Nexty week i expect his performances to step up again

Off course I was just trying to say that they last along time, and I was really responding to your " we all know he'll come good comment". Why do we have to watch him every year go through a rubbish streak and wait for him to come good.

I dunno.

Honestly, I'm beginning to see that Dirk is totally shit and has never ever won us a game or anything.

I think we should melt him down for glue, the useless cunt.

Thank you !

The only worry for me is how easily teams run through us in the middle. In the first half it happened a lot.
Lucas and Adam arent exactly speedmonsters

Or maybe we just bench him when he's playing rubbish( which is most of the time when he plays on the wing) or buy someone who is actually a right winger to play on there.

To be fair to wenger, he's absolutely correct.

Suarez was offside in the build up to the OG.

Suarez was again offside as Ming passed to him.

Maybe.

But, what we don't do is bin him off, which was my point all along.

Bullshit! First goal yes, second goal suarez was only offside when lucas passed it to ming. Then he passed it back.

Fair enough, but after performances like today( which he is very capable of reproducing ), his place in the team should not be automatic. And if we are looking at competing with the best in England and Europe we cannot have kuyt as our first choice right winger

Can you or someone please justify to me why dirt kuyt should be starting or playing for liverpool this season especially on his last 2 performances?

He is disgraceful watching him playing with quality players highlights even more so his lack of quality & impact he has on the team & we shouldn't settle for players like him anymore seeing tho we now have money to go out and buy good players,so sooner KD gets rid of him the better. One of the reasons why we've found ourselves in these positions in the last couple of seasons finishing 6th & 7th is because of players like him that have no quality.

Can the kuyt fan club stop complaining about our future results that don't go our way on these forums cause if yous are gonna keep on calling for him to be in the team you shouldn't be expecting anything better from him that you've seen in his last two performances.

Is reading comprehension a problem for you ?

It isn't automatic. He was on the bench last week.

My point was really that these last couple of years he's played week in week out no matter how bad he played the previous game. And I know he didnt start last week which is why i said did say that Kenny might be doing things differently than our last two managers and will actually bench or sub kuyt which didn't really happen in the past.

Great result and a decent performance.

It's hard to come up with many conclusions from this game considering what a state the Gooners are in, but they look like they could be in for a long season on this showing.

This is a game we should have bossed considering the Gooners were depleted. While we were dominant, we hardly offered a goal threat. Kenny is still making mistakes with his team selection but that my own opinion. We were unconvincing.

After last weeks result, I don't care how we win, as long as we do. The 3 points is all that matters.

We did have more shots on target and more possession like
The game only turned on the introduction of Suarez and Meireles. We may have had more shots and possession but we didn't hurt them. Considering the team that was put in front of us, we should have buried them.

We may have not hurt them but the possession and shots would have tired Arsenal. This, in turn, would have made the impact Suarez and Meireles greater. Imagine from Arsenals point of view that, having defended well for 70 mins, chasing the ball and pulling off saves that you then have to face a fresh Suarez and Meireles?

I didn't see the game but do you think the team before the subs could have lost?

Fantastic result today.
I only managed to watch it in fits and starts because i was at work, but i thought it was a much more sensible option to bring Suarez on at the end than start with him this week. I think the two half games he has played now should see him ready to play the full game next week, but if he isnt ready we should start with Carroll again and bring him on once teams are tired.

Adam and Henderson to me GENUINELY dont like like an improvement on Meireles and Shelvey and i dont know why we have spent 26m quid on the pair of them. It doesnt really look like they are going to improve us at all. Obviously its early days so they deserve a chance, but right now i would play Meireles before either of them.
Downing and Enrique look class. Not good. Class. So happy with them. You have to say though if you chuck 100m at 6 players 3 of em better be fucking good.
Carroll will improve over time, but in Suarez, Meireles, Downing and Maxi (given that Cole and Aquilani MUST be off) we have so much high tempo dynamic passing that i just want to see them or at least SOME of them play every week. This season could be great fun, and i really hope we can keep Agger fit and GET Gerrard and Johnson fit soon.
Suddenly we have a great squad.
Now this could get interesting.
