I know, I just mentioned you, weird...
I'm your fan, but I bonded with Oncy over Aquilani long before you did. Aqua is the classier and more experienced version of my man Shelvey. I'm not that vocal though. Love Aqua though and would start him most weeks. Was distraught that we never got the TorresAquilaniGerrard going (acronym intended).

Except your man Shelvey has played more games for us, has a better record for us and cost something like a tenth of the price.

He's still not better yet. Aqua is injury prone otherwise he's everything you want in a midfielder. And he's scored more and had many more assists than Shelvey for us. Neither has been given enough chances for us and Shelvey sorely lacks experience.

Also getting Shelvey for so little was genius voice of generation type stuff. Not playing him enough is the opposite.

I voted yes.
IMO I dont feel he really had a proper crack at it.
Whether he wanted to or not is another story altogether.
But he always looked like an intelligent player whenever I saw him play and I would gladly have him ahead of some of the shite in our team.

The ammount of posters wanting Aquilani back must suffer from a bad case of 'the grass is always greener on the other side' syndrom as there's nothing (written in big fat underlined letters) that indicates he'd never ever make it with us let alone in the Premiership overall.

Had his chance, don't even know if he blew it, he certainly just didn't take it. I'd personally feel it would be a rather big leap backwards to see him re-introduced.

Henderson and Adam both for all the criticism and hatred towards them has been far better player for us in his first Season than Aqua ever was. Imo.

Im no big fan but ive got to admit he may have helped in some of these endless draws/defeats we've had at home this season. He'd probably go missing in alot of away games because hes a bit of a shirker but he could have provided a different option against these teams who park the bus against us.

Im not really arsed what happens to him but it would be nice to hear him say something rather than agent/tabloid talk all the fucking time.

I don't think Aquilani was given a fair crack of the whip and to say he didn't take his chance after only 14 starts after a long injury period is a bit wide of the mark. He put some decent performances in. He certainly seems to have more in his locker than some of the midfielders we currently have. But you have to ask the question, why don't Juventus or Milan want him given the comparatively low asking price?
