-There will never be a game with as many beautiful goals as the Arsenal game.
I hate how often i end up going on about Arsenal, but fucking hell what a masterclass today.
Fabregas with the perfect midfield performance and goal of the season contenders from Bendtner, Walcott (jairzinho), Vermealen, Arshavin and Fabregas himself.
What a fucking game. What a team when theyre on song.

Going forward yes.

But they conceded 2 yesterday, and it could have easily been 5. I thought Dunn should have had a penalty, he also should have scored when he was through late on and whacked it straight at Mannone, and that young kid hit the post too.

Gallas is fucking done as a top-flight centre-back, I'm not overly convinced by Vermaelen as a defender, their full-backs don't tuck in well enough, and they've got no good goalkeepers. They'll concede goals to sides all season long.

Still, as you say - wonderful going forward.
Quite. But luckily im not an Arsenal fan so i dont care how many they concede....in fact i encourage it.

I can't speak highly enough of Van Persie. I could watch him play all day long, and still not get tired. He's a fucking beautiful footballer.
Change 'Van Persie' with 'Fabregas' and I'd concur.

For every good game Van Persie seems to have these days it's followed by at least a couple of crappy ones.

As I said in the match thread, the ref was strict but fair.

My only criticisms were him being too sympathetic to Drogba's 'plight' and the penalty appeal.

Everything else was spot on.

Another thing - I thought the refereeing performance in our game yesterday was excellent.
Yeah I commented on this, a few people in the pub were a bit miffed with him, fuck knows why. The only criticism I'd have made was regarding the corner when their player was stood only a few yards away and charged the ball down, other than that I think the ref had a steady, fair game.

I do think however it's kind of telling that he's has now managed to referee five games at the Bridge without Chelsea having conceeded once. 🙂

I thought he was slighlty pro Chelsea to be honest. Nothing overly critical and he surely wasn't to blame for our loss but on more than one occasion he gave away some very cheap free-kicks on our behalf. Not a good ref IMO but probably not bad either.

Bolton played some lovely "arsenal" football

Looking forward to the game tonight

I just think we conceded more silly fouls, KHL.

The ref was excellent at spotting when a player touched the ball first - look at the Johnson tackle, for example, and a few by Masher.

He was a bit harsh on Carragher once after Drogba went down, but he did shoulder barge him 5 seconds before which was possibly a foul in itself.

- Unlucky for Sunderland, but shitty own goals happen if you're standing on the edge of the 6 yard box trying to defend.

- I really like that Asian kid playing for Bolton. What's his name?

- Steve Bruce has bought well. Cattermole, Cana, Bent. That and getting Jones back to form, and Andy Reid slim is an impressive start.
Sunderland are a very good side these days. Bruce has added steel in the right areas and has a strike force to be reckoned with. His biggest acheivement has to be getting through Andy Reid's thick skull. Many have treid before and failed. The lad has the ability, no question for me. Maybe now Trap will stopp all the messing and bring him back into the squad. I'd rather him than a half fit Duff against the Italians next week. Not going to happen though.

Yeah, I have been impressed with Chung-Yong Lee at Bolton. His goal against Birmingham was very impressive. I know it was a tap in, but his first touch to knock it into a bit of space showed good awareness and composure. He followed that up with another tidy performance against Spurs. Looks a good player. It'll be interesting to see how he progresses, Asian playes usually seem to have an immediate impact before going off the boil and dropping down the pecking order. Sorry if that is a bit general but it usually is the case.

One other thing, the cross put into the box for Portsmouth's goal by Boateng was top class. The striker could not fail to score with a cross that good. When was the last time we had a player delivery such an accurate cross like that?

Probably Steve Finnan, who funnily enough I initially thought put the ball in.

In fairness Johnson's a very good crosser, as is Kuyt from short range.

-Ferguson is running short of ideas on how to criticise officials.
-Lampard is an average midfielder when he is not given the freedom or protection to bomb forward in search of deflected goals.
-Fabregas will be off to Barca at the end of the year, seeing as though he kissed his arse badge.
-Vermaelen looks like a Danny Agger type player who can also defend.
-Darren bent will get goals when he plays games.
-Birmingham will go down, they look toothless.

He had a good game, but they fucked up royaly with the biggest call of the night. The penalty for Drogbas foul on Skrtel. That was a horrible mistake that would have changed the game if we had scored.

Other than that he was good. But the lack of "balls" from the linesmen and referee regarding that desicion still angers me.

I am not sure they saw it TBH. Now if there were an extra 2 'referees' behind the goal like in the Europa league, then they might have had more to answer to.

Fergie's been asked to explain his comments about the ref.

Now whilst he's a cunt and what not, what is he meant to exaplain? I thought his opinion was quite clear.

Back it up with fact (which he can't do), or pay the fine we give you for airing your ill-informed opinions (which he will have to do).

Another excellent refereeing performance tonight in the Villa-City game.

I could have sworn it was the 24th minute before he blew for a free-kick. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

The ref played a big part in it being such an entertaining game, he got most decisions right, didn't blow up everytime someone went to ground and had a calm assuredness about him which the players seemed to respect.

Dunne out-jumping Barry for the first goal was delicious.
