I'm surprised people haven't been up in arms about us supposedly bidding £25m for Markovic, he looks far from worth that kind of money, yet he's foreign, so..

I think he's great value at £25m. World class potential and good for at least 10 years.

disagree. He's had a standout fist season with Benfica and played a major role getting them to a Euro final. He's also now establishing himself at international level. He's 20 and shows great speed, technique and vision. At the same age Lallana was playing in the championship.

that sort of talent at that sort of age is going to cost a lot. in many ways there are parallels with rodriguez - Markovic is on the cusp of a major transfer and his value will only go up.

Meanwhile over on TalkSport their S.American correspondent has said Sanchez doesn't want to leave but, if he has to, prefers the prospect of Italy.

I read he would prefer Arsenal to us. Really? What on earth can they offer that we don't? I imagine he has heard of London and would rather live there. No other possible reason. They are pathetic limp cunts. Ozil last night was a perfect example of the type of twat they buy.

'Limp' is the perfect adjective to describe Ozil.

This was reported a couple of days ago, apparently he fancies Juve.

it's no surprise, most South Americans actually orefer to live there since it most resembles a life they can relate to. However salary and quality of club considerations will come higher up that list of priorities. So, can Juve match our total package ?

You can't blame him, he'd be going from a team who are 50/50 to win the league every year, and a good shout for the champions league most years. At Juve he's got a 90% chance at the league at least. Apart from the rose tinted glasses, I can't see why Sanchez would come here. Being brutal, we're not even a sideways step for him.

re the last point, neither is Juve to be fair.

I'm not sure about the attraction of winning titles in a less competitive league either. I'd hope (without any rose tints) that we'd be at least as attractive proposition for a top player as Juve?

Aren't Juve meant to be quite light on money? How would they ever afford the £30million that he'll at least go for?

Not sure. For a player that's 25 and has won everything going at club level, when your club gives you the push, what motivates? Probably money.
Winning the championship in a 2nd tier league, or being in with a shout with everything (but possibly winning nothing) in possibly the best league.

I think if one of the oil rich teams came in for him, even to sit on the bench, he'd be off in a flash.

Hes lived the life there before also so he knows it and by the sounds of it likes and is comfortable with it.

BARCELONA sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has revealed that there have been offers made for Chile star Alexis Sanchez, with Arsenal and Liverpool interested.

Sanchez has been linked with a host of top European clubs after another fantastic season in Spain, scoring 21 goals and assisting 17 in all competitions.
Arsenal and Liverpool remain favourites to bring the 25-year-old to the Premier League, with reports in Spain claiming he would prefer a move to the Emirates.

And now Zubizarreta has confirmed that Sanchez could be on his way out of the Camp Nou this summer. "Regarding the future of Alexis Sanchez, there have been offers for the player," the 52-year-old said. "But I do not know how it will all end - we are looking for a solution which will be best for everyone."

Sanchez's value will have inevitably gone up since Chile's impressive campaign at the World Cup, exiting to hosts Brazil in the last 16.

Fuck him, if he wants to join them bellends and fight for 4th every season then they're welcome to him. Let's move on and get Greizmann instead.

[article=http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/players/luis-suarez/10939185/Luis-Suarez-negotiations-between-Barcelona-and-Liverpool-begin-with-Alexis-Sanchez-a-key-factor.html]Barcelona will open negotiations with Liverpool for the signing of Luis Suárez on Wednesday with Alexis Sánchez possibly heading to Merseyside in part-exchange.

Liverpool officials, including Ian Ayre, the managing director, have agreed to meet Raul Sanllehi, Barcelona’s director of football management, in London when the primary discussions about Suárez’s transfer will be held.

Anfield officials are adamant that Suárez will not be sold for less than his release fee, understood to be between £70 million and £80 million pounds. Liverpool will, however, reiterate their strong interest in Chile’s Sánchez, who will become crucial to the conversations.

A Barcelona bid is inevitable, the key question being whether the La Liga club are prepared to meet the 27-year-old’s valuation. If Sánchez is keen to move to Merseyside, a resolution could be swiftly found.

Suárez’s desire to move to the Nou Camp has become increasingly apparent, not least when he belatedly apologised for biting Giorgio Chiellini at Barcelona’s request.

Andoni Zubizarreta, Barcelona’s sporting director, added to the conspiracy theories regarding the motives behind Suárez’s contrition by praising his “humility”.

“Suárez has shown he is humble enough to admit an error, which is very important,” Zubizarreta said. “He has been humble enough to apologise to those he has affected, because it happened in the middle of a festival of football. In this case it’s the best thing a person can do.

“Everyone knows that Luis is an excellent player, everyone knows last season he played in various positions in attack, but everyone also knows that he is a Liverpool player.”

There are signs that Liverpool are readying themselves for life without Suárez. On Tuesday they completed the £25 million signing of Adam Lallana from Southampton and have also turned their sights on reinforcing their defence with deals for Dejan Lovren and Ryan Bertrand.

Lovren is the third Southampton player to be subject of Anfield interest, with Lallana following Rickie Lambert to Merseyside on Tuesday morning. Bertrand is a long-term target for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool want to sign the left-back after the price for Seville’s Alberto Moreno inflated to well beyond what they were prepared to pay.

Lallana will join Liverpool’s pre-season tour of America with the rest of the club’s England contingent.

The midfielder, who will wear the No 20 shirt at Anfield, said: “I have been granted my wish to play at such a fantastic football club, in Champions League football and competing for Premier League titles. I’m so excited for the next chapter of my career, coming to a special club like Liverpool. Last season, deep down, I was thinking: hopefully one day I’ll be able to play in that team. That dream is reality now.

“It’s a huge step. Liverpool have got so much history and after the season they had last season, I can’t wait to get started and carry on and build on that. Champions League football is back; everyone is telling me that the atmosphere on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Anfield are something special. Lambert is up here already and he has been telling me all about it. It’s great that I can continue my career with him as well. That’s a special moment.”
Rodgers made Lallana a prime summer target and he sees the midfielder as perfectly in tune with his footballing style.

“What is apparent about Adam is that his character is on a par with his talent,” Rodgers said. “He is an exceptional young man and someone who has a love for the game – and, most importantly, a desire to progress and improve. Adam is motivated by being the best he can be and being part of something special. We believe he fits right in with what we are trying to do at Liverpool.

“We have seen, over the past two seasons, he has a tactical awareness to adapt to what is required of him and to put the team above his personal ambitions. He has leadership skills and personal qualities that make him a special commodity and I am delighted we have acted decisively to make sure he is wearing a Liverpool shirt next season. We are confident he will fit perfectly with the culture we have at Liverpool.”[/article]
