.....it can only get better.. surely?

What are we in for?

half a season of dross and half a season of less dross

More of the same, because we've got a shit squad and a shit manager.

Expect to finish 8th.

Had it been more likely that we'd be spending big in January, I'd have had more hope that NESV would jettison Hodgson now. As it is, though I'd still do that myself, I now suspect they probably will let him cling on a bit longer, though whether that will take us right up to the summer I'm not sure - it'll depend on results. I do think there's a fair chance of more far-reaching changes in the close season, on and off the field, but it could be a long old wait till then. As for how the start of next season will go, goodness only knows.

More to the point, how long is it going to take for the Anfield crowd to muster up the courage to do something?

like sing?

That would be a start.

I'd like a big banner which said 'Our Manager's Greatest Achievement Was Losing A Final'.

ooooooooo i like that

or "i wish i had a Malmo season ticket..."

Heh, I was thinking about this in the shower last night. Fuck knows why in the shower but anyway.

What if... We get our better players back and fit in the second half of the year, string a few results togethor, climb back up the table and finish 5th or something, and get to the UEFA Cup final?

Roy will keep his fucking job won't he?

i'm definitely close to the point of wanting us to lose now, partly because you sensed from that phone-in the other night that he's clinging on a bit now. it's close, i think. if we lose badly to fulham then i wouldn't exactly be gutted tbh, because i think that might just do it.

if we lose i'll be devastated but if we keep on acting like a rudderless ship then perhaps the more icebergs the better

I doubt roy is going to be sacked this season.

He definitely sounds desperate. I don't want us to lose, I never could, but I did look at the fixtures last week and see all these home games coming up and think, "he'll win them all won't he?".

I think we'll see some silverwear in 2011.

I'd settle for the europa league.

Although if beat utd in jan there's no reason why we shouldn't be there or there abouts for the f.a cup.

Fa cup and el cup and 9th place or 4th and nothing?

My crystal ball says

1. We'll sign 2 Frogs in January
2. Man U will knock us out of the FA Cup
3. We'll come 6th or 7th in the League on 61 points
4. We'll win whatever the UEFA Cup is called
5. Roy will keep his job
6. Torres will be sold in the summer accompanying a mass turnover of players

More inconsistency and frustration between here and May. I think we'll finish 6th and maybe win the Europa League. But Roy won't keep his job - no chance. I'm confident Henry and Commoli are scouting the next manager now, and he'll be in place early in the summer. Consequently, I think we're in for an exciting summer, with loads of new players - and old players sold. The rest of the year we will thus be inconsistent and frustrating as the new players will be getting used to each other and to the new coach. But 2012 will be awesome.

Unless the world ends.

It's not easy to win the Europa League, shitty competition that it is. There are a lot of good teams still left in it.

If we won that it'd be a successful season.

But Roy would still get the boot.

If by then they've found someone else they want to take over (which hopefully they will have done if our away form remains as dire as it is now), there will be ways of squeezing him out, especially now that there's a DOF over his head.

I think you're wrong, Ryan.

As if Fulham have learnt to win away from home.

When Roy leaves a club his legacy lingers on like a curse.
