Other CL matches : R7

No, it's still as laughable as everyone make out.

They done well in the CL but their draw was the easiest they could've had for a pot 3 seed.

Does the fact the French league have 3 teams in the top 16 make it less of a farmers league? No. It's still absolutely fucking shite in terms of competitiveness.
They still had to go out and win their games.

They've beat teams worse than them like Bratislava and Young Boys (a team 9th in the Swiss league and needed a late OG to do it).....fantastic stuff, the SPL is still complete trash and no one outside Scotland watches it.

Rubbish.

They beat Leipzig and draw away to Atalanta and Zagreb while drawing with Brugge at home.

12pts after 7 games is super impressive.

Ok? Bar Atalanta, they're all shite and on another day they lose that 3 or 4-0, they got battered. Like I said, they had the easiest draw possible for a pot 3 seed.

Not faced a single top 10 ranked side. Incredible luck.

The game against Villa will tell us where they’re at.

You got to remember though - BRodgers is taking Celtic to places the great flAnge never could - some must be doing an amazing job - like generational world class best XI standard!!!

All that tells us is Leipzig are shite this year. Atalanta are going backwards while the Belgian and Croatian leagues are also backwater leagues.

I moved back downtown again over the summer and have been watching most of Celtic's matches this season with a few of my old time Scottish mates... They're a great group of lads, and I enjoy the craic, but sweet little 7lb baby Jesus, the football in Scotland is beyond diabolical. It's basically unwatchable.

You’re right and I’m sure they will see the error of their ways and change it for next season after top-seeded Liverpool gets drawn with Real Madrid in 1/16, making the mockery of the whole idea of seeding.

It will be scant comfort to us though.

On the other hand if it became clear that top place would play Real Madrid (for eg) then we might see teams throwing matches to get favourable opponents. Not really something you want to see.

(Not us though. Slot will play Gravenberch regardless)

It's not shit in terms of quality though.

Easily the third best after the PL and Serie A

Atalanta are in the top 10 and Celtic beat them.

Fact is nobody expected Celtic to qualify nevermind with a game to spare and a chance to make the top 8.

Incredible performance.

A team managed by Vincent Kompany is currently top of the Bundesliga
Yes, and the UEFA league coefficient has the French league 5th, a French club hasn’t won anything in Europe for nearly 30 years and French clubs have only every won 2 trophies in Europe - with one of those by a team accused of bribery.

Honestly, which of us watch full games from other leagues? I certainly don't have the time but would love to hear from someone who knows what they're talking about, who is shit and who is not.

That said, no meaningful criticism can be levelled against a league with Lille Nice Brest on the table.

Difficulty on paper at the start of the season is worth absolutely fucking nothing.
Well it kinda is based on who was difficult to play last year. Of the teams Celtic played, who is actively much better this season than last? From what i saw they're all slightly worse. If anything it was an easier draw than expected. The only team who may be better is Dortmund, and they eviscerated Celtic

Or Celtic made them look worse.

Fact is Celtic qualifying early for the last 24 with an outside chance of top 8 is super impressive. I love the new format, so much more exciting.

You know that it's possible for Celtic to have impressed in qualifying for the playoffs AND for them to have benefitted from a very favourable fixture list to do so, right..? Those facts CAN coexist. They're not mutually exclusive.
