Cheshire Dave was easily the best youngster who left us.
I was sort of absent mindedly watching him play last season, just intrigued that someone that large was playing at that level, when I heard the name mentioned. Quite a shock. He was captain of our under 19s and quite well-rated for a time, then he went to Blackpool and then intoMcDonaldsobscurity.
Paul Anderson is a footballer who currently plays for Championship side Ipswich Town. He plays primarily as a winger and can operate on either flank. He started his career at Hull City before moving to Liverpool but made no league appearances for either club. Loan spells with Swansea City and Nottingham Forest resulted in a permanent move to the latter for whom he made nearly 100 league appearances. In 2012 he moved to Bristol City before signing for Ipswich Town the following

Didn't he sign for us too? No mention on the wiki page whatsoever
I think he had a trial with us. Don't think we ended up signing him.
Mexican starlet Marco Bueno is determined to grab his chance to shine after signing a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool FC.
The highly-rated 17-year-old striker will have a trial at the Kirkby Academy next month and if everything goes to plan he will pen a five-year contract.
His current club Pachuca say a fee for the Under-17 World Cup winner has been agreed.
"A pre-contract with the parents and Bueno was signed to be sent to Liverpool," Pachuca vice-president Andres Fassi said.
"So we are accepting the 10-day trial and the conditions, if the English decide to keep him."
Bueno has been recovering from a calf injury in recent weeks but expects to be firing on all cylinders when he travels to Merseyside in mid-August.
"I feel very happy and very motivated," Bueno said.
"I am wearing the shirt of Liverpool. I have my family behind me and that's enough to face any challenge.
"I have to face it with great motivation and commitment to represent the country in the best way, and with faith that everything is achievable.
"It's a life experience that I will never forget. I'm very excited about that and will give my best. Where the opportunity arises I will make the most."
Ah - Paul Anderson was the man on Footy Manager back in the day. Can't think I ever saw him play in a reds shirt, even in pre season?!
Fucked his knees and does commentary today.
Charles-Hubert Itandje (born 2 November 1982) is a French-born Cameroonian professional footballer who plays for PAOK FC in Greece as a goalkeeper.
Mark Dennis González Hoffmann (born 10 July 1984), commonly known as Mark González, is a Chilean footballer whose preferred position is as a left winger. He currently plays for Universidad Católica of the Chilean Primera División, and has also played top-flight football in Russia, Spain and England.
Gary Mackay-Steven has done well at Dundee Utd and even picked up a Scotland Cap.
He even has youtube compilations of his skills
For me it'll always be Ritchie Partridge.
So much promise, so little to show for.
Well at least he made up for it in other ways by earning a Masters and is now the physio for our Under-21s and marrying Michael Owen's sister.
Re-sign Re-sign Re-sign!
Always though Plessis looked a player. Wrong again. When people have a go at footballers earning too much they should try something as fickle as football. The ones at the top deserve every penny. They are few and far between and the hard work, sacrifice and avoiding injuries should be rewarded. What a tough way to try and make a decent living. what do you do if you're Ngog or someone and no club takes you? Must be weird as fuck.
Just goes from bad to worse for him doesn't it 🙁
Gimme a break Sean - without really wanting to kick off this old chestnut but £10,000 - £300,000 per WEEK for playing football. Hundreds or maybe thousands of genuinely dangerous / more deserving jobs pay peanuts. Not everyone makes it in any profession.
There are proportionately a tiny amount of people earning that from playing football compared to the thousands upon thousands who try and fail. A more precarious living you would struggle to find.
Reading the Guardian's season preview, I just saw this name - David Nugent. Left us at 15, went to Bury in the lower divisions, moved to Preston in the Championship, then Portsmouth in the Premier League, then Burnley in the Premier League on loan, then back to the Championship with Leicester, scoring double digits in each of his 3 seasons there (20 goals last season) and is now back in the league with the Foxes.
