There has got to be some sort of logical formulae behind the wages.
I reckon whatever he was on at Barca got doubled when he came to Citeh because everyone gets that automatically. Then factor in that he wasnt a starter every week at Barca and that he would be at Citeh and so he needs to be compensated for the extra work that he will be doing by switching clubs. Both of them are players that didn't really want to the move, they were pushed into it by their selling clubs, each of which were the biggest in their respective countires, so of course they were gonna feel like City were a step down, especially with them not being in the CL.
