Yeah, Chelsea were ridiculed and mocked along similar lines as Man Shitty are now, for failing to attract "a top-tier" World Class star, and instead having to "settle" for a level below.

But they had a better team to begin with, with more established "loyal" Chelsea players already in place (Lampard, Terry etc), and also had a manager like Mourinho to ensure that potential problem players like Drogba and Robben (and even Mutu) fell into line for long enough to ensure the first title was won. He was also bright enough to bring in loyal lieutenants like Carvalho and Ferreira from his previous club - Manicini raided his old club for that monumental cunt-pole Balotelli, rather than a Zanetti, Snjeider or Lucio.

Seems like the clash of egos at Shitty is threatening to derail Mancini, as it did Hughes before him with Robinho.
