They could drop points in any of those games though.

When citeh have dropped points it's been out of the blue. They've played pretty poorly the last couple of games & were very lucky to get one nil wins.

They could draw against Watford at the weekend, get another one nil or they could put five past them, I honestly wouldn't like to bet which, which says a lot about them.

Obviously when that fixture pile up comes it's the most dangerous time for them, but it's may not all rest on those matches.

It hath already been decreed that I'll never see us win the league in my lifetime by the footballing gods. It's all been so predictable.

I feel the same, and that's why I'm on a diet of Monster and McDonald's

This self sacrifice to the olds ones means I'm like Jesus in a way

We're mathematically still within reach but my head turned when I saw Pele still tipping us to win it. No logic around his touch of death predictions.

At the start of the season, I thought City would win the league and us and Chelsea would compete for 2nd. I'm returning to that mind frame

Look.. we ain't going to win the league this season..

It is what it is... You may as well get used to this scenario, so it does not come as a disappointment when City lift the title in May..

As current form dictates we will probably lose this title by about 4 or 5 points..

That bolded bit's the key to the defeatism you and others are peddling on here, isn't it, jono? It's a kind of psychological self-defence mechanism - tell yourself the worst will happen, so if it does it might not hurt *quite* so much.

Well, you can keep that lily-livered bo11ocks. If that's the way you're going to look at it, don't bother criticising the players for lack of fighting spirit, 'coz they're no worse than you. Current form does not "dictate" anything at all. We're still in it - FACT.

No we are not.. stop kidding yourself

Momentum is everything at this stage of the season, its how titles are won and lost..

We have no momentum.. we have lost

I honestly think there are people on here who would prefer it if we were not in a title race, and were either comfortably fourth, or even down at 6th or 7th, just so that there was no pressure or chance of disappointment.

Grow a fucking spine!

I've got a spine, thanks..
I'm being realistic

Better stop watching football now because we're a point behind and City have better players and Klopp is a serial loser and you are all going to die before we challenge for the league again

For fucks sake, lads... There are 27 points to play for, and yes, though City don't look like dropping many points at the minute, how many of yiz saw them dropping the points they already have..?

Except for West Ham and Leicester (which killed me), none of our dropped points are disasters - They were all against either City or away to our biggest rivals. And, though we've conveniently forgotten it lately, we weren't playing particularly good football as we rose to the top of the tabel, so current performances don't worry me too much - We should have enough, even playing within ourselves, to take all but Chelsea and Spurs in the run in... We WILL have to raise our game to beat them, of course. But my point is, that we have (mostly) nothing but very winnable games left.

City, on the other hand, have dropped mental points to get here, and may well do it again. It's not like anybody predicted their losses in advance of any of those matches, AND they now have to play without three of their most important players for a while AND there will be lots of other games for them to play. AND they have a few tough places to visit as well. Anybody who thinks that the scum will allow themselves to be turned over at home so that we don't win the league are feckin' eejits. They're a brilliant side, and they may win everything from here on out... But I doubt it. They were also a brilliant team when they dropped silly points earlier in the league.

Is it likely? At this point we'd have to say that City are favourites... But is it over, already? Is it fuck.

It's all ebbs and flows, and I feel like there may be one more change in how things are 'flowing' in the remaining three months of the season.

Reading Guardiola's comments about them still being a great side even if we beat them to the league this season & talking about how many more games their players had played already was quite heartening.

Yes it was. The point bears repeating - no way will City think we're out of it at this grossly premature stage.

Kiss of death but I reckon United are going to beat City.

Our run in is harder. We're in danger of just doing what we did last time and getting all desperate. Need to realise that we are massive underdogs in this race and go for broke every week.

Bollocks.

We had ALL the momentum back in 2013, until just two weeks from the end of the season. We were untouchable, irresistible, rolling to the title (according to all of the media, pundits, etc...). Then we lost to Chelsea.

It's March. The title's anything but over.

Too soon to stop believing. And fuck City. Let’s see how they deal with the fixture pile up that is heading their way.
