Will we qualify ?

I think tonight's game will reinforce or change a lot of peoples views on this, so in advance - do you think we'll qualify for the CL this season ?

It all depends on Suarez. How capable is he of repeating the magic of the 1st half? If he can get 10-15 goals the rest of the way and Sturridge can chip in with 10+, we can do it. If not, we will miss out.

If we can get a few players back this month, we could see an upturn. This game and the Arsenal game is crucial IMO, we can lose or gain alot of ground in those two games.

It will be easier to answer after the window shuts to see if we have signed anyone.

If we don't sign a DM at the bare minimum i don't think we will even get close, 8-10 points off.

Felt really confident a month ago. But with rodgers obsession with attacking players and nowhere near the same focus on our true weak area of central midfield has started to make me think otherwise.

Bigger question. If we dont make it and everton do does rodgers deserve to keep his job?

Exactly how i feel, cant help but feel the wheels are going to come off if we don't bother signing a couple of players.

I wonder if we will sniff round PSG for a loan now they have Cabaye.

I think we are in with a shout but I am concerned about our lack of depth. And about how many points Suarez secured us first half of the Season, as that will be almost impossible to keep up why we need Sturridge, Coutinho, Henderson, Sterling and Gerrard to chip in more.

60/40 imo that we'll miss out. Tonight as you say can tip that, a win and we'd be around even odds to make the cut imo. A loss however, and we're 30/70 favorites at a push.

If he can sort the defence out, then yes, we will.
That's no small task though, we're missing players and brains back there.

When we have all (most) of our players fit then we can give anyone in the league, home or away, more than a run for the money and are capable of beating them. We will finish in the Top 4 if that happens.

United to me are the biggest threat however they are still a crap team (compared to yesteryear), Mata won't transform them overnight, especially as he's a 'hot n cold' player himself, but he could give them the confidence they are lacking to make a run at the Top 4.

Injuries are the only thing that will stop of finishing Top 4 IMHO.

If we dont sign anyone its very dependant on injuries.
The same set of players had us first at Christmas, so everything is possible. But you just feel that since we havent adressed our obvious weak issues we'll just miss out.

If we score more goals than the other team in each of our remaining matches then we might be able to do it.

If we don't sign a CM'er then we have a 30% chance of qualifying, if we sign a good one then 50%.

Yous are all pussies. Course we will.

We've only got relegation fodder to play away and all the big teams at home where we fare much better

Yeah but do we fare better at home because we're genuinely good at home or because we haven't played many good teams at home?

A bit like being top at Christmas - because we hadn't played City and Chelsea

None of the top 4 teams have beaten another top team 4 away from home though

yeah it's definitely a bit of both but we stand more of a chance in these games at home than we would away

I think like others, I'm feeling a bit pessimistic.

I'd be more confident if we weren't plagued by injuries and didn't look tired and jaded but we are and we do. If we were only up against one side then I'd be more positive but there are four in the mix and you're in this situation where you feel like you have to win every week.

Real shame if we miss out because it feels like a genuine opportunity to re-establish ourselves.

I Think no as we are defensively too weak but then my heart kicks in and says everyone else is shite and we can do this...

For fuck's sake Pat ... stop it man, just stop it.

Why I was asked my opinion that's it.
We won't have the FA Cup after the next round so we will win the majority of our games til the end of the season like we did last year and it will propel us to a comfy spot in the top 4.

UTD - will be going hard after the CL and don't have the squad for both.
Everton - have a very tough run of games coming up and will fade quickly.
Spurs - playing nice football and getting results but don't have enough fire power or mental strength to get over the line.

Maybe I'll be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but I doubt I will be.
