Who should replace Firmino?

I think most of us here are in agreement that we need to replace Firmino or at least get him some decent competition.

The question is who, or what type of striker would you prefer?

Personally, I think Haaland or Kane would be the perfect additions.

We have several decent crossers of the ball in the team and I feel that we're not exploiting that strength enough in attack. Just imagine how many assists Robbo and Trent would have if we had someone who could challenge for those balls in the box?

I've seen people suggest Vlahovic from Fiorentina,

Any other suggestions?

Don't want a mouth breathing neanderthal in the team almost as much as I don't want that stupid haired midfielder from Villa

I'd honestly take a younger Zlatan or Lewandowski.
Or Torres, wow he'd be perfect.

Ok - so you're saying my original suggestion isn't realistic ... Ok, I'd honestly be happy if we got Lautaro Martinez (probably well out of our range), Dolberg (This is to try and get @Kay Age El out of retirement) or Martinelli

A dark horse is Neal Maupay maybe? Scores goals, works hard, etc

If we continue with the system we've been playing for the last 4 years, this player obviously can't just be any striker. It would have to be a forward capable of drifting deep, using clever movement and making space for the 2 wide forwards. At our best Firmino was arguably the most important player in our attack for a couple of years. But its worth remembering that before Klopp he was considered something of an attacking midfielder. We're speculating on number 9's but Klopp could be on the lookout for a number 10 type player. Who knows.

I mean, if we agree that Jota and Salah are going to be our main goal threats next year. Wouldnt we look more to a "2nd striker" type player.

More Bergkamp than Henry
More Raul than Ronaldo (Brazilian)
More Del Piero than Inzaghi
More Kaka than Shevchenko

etc etc you get the picture

Exactly and that's why I think Kane is perfect.

Kane is the exact opposite of what JonnyRocket is suggesting.

If Klopp isn’t going to play an Origi-type player through the middle regularly - he’s not going to fancy a Kane.

Besides - he’ll cost too much.

For the record - I wouldn’t be selling Bobby - I’d be trying to find someone much younger who can come in, much the same as Jotta has, impact off the bench, while integrating into the team and ultimately replacing Firmino.

I have no idea who that player is though.

Everyone is looking for a main striker, including City, Chelsea, the scums etc. Kane is as good as they come. If he joins us we will win the league again, but he won't, so let's move on.

Kane was one of the most creative players this season. He is the perfect choice. And he'll be at Utd or City next season.

As if.

We can forget players such as Haaland, Kane etc., no way we are going to pay the money they'd cost and in Kane's case he'll be 28 by the start of next season, not a long term solution.

What we need is a goal scoring #10, someone who'll hit 10-15 every season, because we've seen what happens when Mane & Mo are off the boil. We struggle hugely to get goals from elsewhere in the team.

Son is amazing but not the answer for us for many reasons (not in the least we can't afford him / Spurs wouldn't sell to us).

We'll be looking at players like Jota - up and coming.

All I'm saying is that Kane would be perfect. I know it's more or less impossible to sign him.
True, it's another up and comer for us.

Actually Jimenez would be great too, problem is that he's short term too.

I don't know enough across Europe any more.

I think we might go down the avenue of mobile front 3, rather than a false 9.

I can see Sancho coming in, and Jota or Salah going central.

If not, as a backup to firmino (vey quickly to replace), I can see vlahovic (?) Being the target

We all know it's going to be a Watkins or bamford though

Yussuf En-Nesyri

Having a phenominal season at Sevilla, proper #9...tall strong fairly agile.

Wout Weghorst

Would be another good option, someone who's expressed his desire of playing for Liverpool..firing Wolfsburg to a 3rd place finish.
