The Bradford City captain Gary Jones was awesome last night. He's 36 and was still dominating Delph & Banann in the 94th minute. Last month he did the same to Ramsey et al as Bradford beat Arsenal.
IMO he's the unluckiest footballer in the league; he's been superb every season (for Rochdale predominantly) but apart from a brief spell at barnsley nobody in the higher leagues has taken a chance on him. Barnsley never really gave him a proper chance.
He has seen the likes of Liam Lawrence, Keith Andrews, Dean Whitehead, Mike Williamson, Gareth MacAuley, etc plucked from League 2 obscurity to play in the Premier league and yet he has performed better and more consistently than them.
I suppose football is like music; it's all about being spotted and being in the right place at the right time. IMO Gary Jones has Premier League quality stamped all over and the shame is at 36 he's never gonna get that chance.
I hope they make it to the final, he deserves his BIG moment.
