Watford vs Liverpool Post Match

I still don't understand why bobby's goal wasn't offside. Don't care, just don't understand
The Watford defender that chased Robbo was playing him on.
I thought he would be flagged for off side in real time but when you see the goal clip it is obvious he is on

Quality of the front 3 made the difference.

I think Henderson is too insecure to be captain. His sending off was almost inevitable. His standard reaction of berating the official to try and throw them off the scent. He obviously decided to take the red card in a vain attempt of sacrifice to stope the counter attack, but there was no need to do it.

Big Virg should just keep the captaincy from now on, and Henderson focus on playing than trying to lead.

The defender who tried to tackle Robbo as he crossed stayed lying on the ground near to the touch line (lazy arse) and the keeper where the 2 between the goal line. Look carefully at the video above.

Those who follow Firmino on the gram, and the amount of header ping pong he plays will have loved that goal.

Would it have been offside if he stepped out of the pitch?

I just watched the highlights, professional win, job done, 3 points.

Big Shaq seemed to be very good in the first half?

Nobody was "very good" in the first half, I think. But yes, Shaq was once again one of our most effective chance creators.

Will still be considered as in play because as an active player he would have been able to come back in at any time. There was a world cup match whereby it was a similar scenario involving Italy and the goal against the Italians stood

I only saw the highlights but it feels like everyone is being way harsh on Henderson. Neither of those should have been a yellow.
First one he was fouled not the other way round and second one was barely a challenge. Foul yes, yellow.......seriously?! No way is that a yellow.

He was very unlucky and I wouldnt be surprised if we get it overturned. The first one is clear as day a foul against him. Lads all over his shirt.

What you probably missed during the highlights is that he had a few fouls between the two yellows and the ref warned him that he was about to earn a second yellow. Still...
I agree that the first one should have been freekick to us, but Hendo overreacted.

Yeah didnt see that.

Yeah didnt see that.

I... I agree with Modo about Henderson😱

You're right the first yellow he was fouled but he let a couple of soft / poor decisions by the ref get to him. I think Klopp said post match that they were looking to get him off when he got the second yellow.

He had two fouls and mouthed off at the linesman because Success, for being an absolutely huge man, was going down as if he was Mugsy Bouges.

First yellow was a joke.
Second yellow imo was fine - he was clearly trying to slow down a potential Watford break.

Hendo definitely fucked up, but they were clearly getting under his skin with repeated diving. Klopp should have had him off before the second yellow. It looked very obvious that he was getting sent off.

The second one was definitely a yellow. But what people are not seeing is that Watford had a break on, we had just fucked up a 4 on 2 situation, and they were piling forward. Watford had men up the pitch and Jordan took one for the team there. Some of the shite I’ve read about him is fucking harsh. He had to do what he did there. I’ve got no issues with the decision of the ref, or what hendo did. One of them things innit.

You can't get yellows overturned

Dunno. I'm all for a player taking a good yellow for the team but he was running round practically begging to be sent off after the first yellow.

Jon well done. People were talking about Watford having one of the stronger midfields in the League bit we controlled them through the whole game. We were not sharp enough on the final third in first half but har them chasing the ball. Second half we nailed it perfectly. A lot of moaning along the course but if we ain't happy with this sort of performances we have seriously issues with the expectations...

On a side note, when he got sent off, I text my blue nose cousin who was at the Everton game, “good news for you, Henderson’s been sent off and will miss the derby next week”

His reply was “[emoji853] good news? he’s fucking shite”

Hahahaha hahaha hahahaha hahaha!

I don't rate Henderson but generally find his work rate to be positive in the 'big' matches , I think we will miss him in the Derby.

Unless Fabinho or keita or whoever steps up , considerably

Would it have been offside if he stepped out of the pitch?

I seen an incident just like that in a match on tv (can't remember which game though) a couple of years ago where the ref gave a goal after the last defender stepped off the pitch deliberately to create an offside scenario. The ref said that the player was still live and that he required the refs permission/consent to leave the pitch. I think he also booked him for not asking permission to leave the pitch.

I get where you're coming from but I didn't think stopping the counter at that point was red card worthy. Probably could have left it to the players behind to deal with it, wasn't the Watford player still in his own half and by the touchline?

It was on the halfway line yeah but we had 4 men committed forward and they were breaking, I think it was just one of them he had to take but just my opinion like.

I think the second was a booking. Cynical foul to take out a counter. And I guess the argument with the ref just before made it easy to call.

Watching the game develop you could see Henderson was heading for an early bath. A few persistant fouls then the dissent, he was becoming more and more irate.

As an experienced player, and Captain, you'd expect him to compose himself. We were winning and in control.

That said, it was out of character and he doesn't deserve to be villified to the levels Ive seen posted.
