Watford vs Liverpool Post Match

The second one was definitely a yellow. But what people are not seeing is that Watford had a break on, we had just fucked up a 4 on 2 situation, and they were piling forward. Watford had men up the pitch and Jordan took one for the team there. Some of the shite I’ve read about him is fucking harsh. He had to do what he did there. I’ve got no issues with the decision of the ref, or what hendo did. One of them things innit.

I don't know. To me he'd completely lost it and just went for it. Klopp clearly had a sub ready to replace him and still he charged in, practically in front of his manager.

Hendo definitely fucked up, but they were clearly getting under his skin with repeated diving. Klopp should have had him off before the second yellow. It looked very obvious that he was getting sent off.

Klopp had called Fab up to get ready. He'd told the assistant he was about to make a substitution. I don't think, between a purple-faced temple-bulging Hendo giving the ref an earful for NOT sending him off, and the actual sending off, it could have been done quicker. I think a manager is entitled to think, after that generous warning from the ref (Jon Moss of all people!), he'd have enough time to get a sub ready before his own captain goes completely mental

The pass map here tells a key story. Look just how little our players are interacting with Mo. Whilst i like him getting on the end of incisive moves, i just feel we are losing so much in this new shape & approach.

If we keep winning though, & it means our players aren't gonna hit a brick wall in February, it could be a good thing.

My biggest worry is that you can't turn form on & off like a tap, & at some point we'll need Salah & Co at their best, & they may not be able to give it.

Robbo on peno:

[article]“I’ve watched it back and I still don’t think I made contact with him, I think he was looking for it.

“He went down quite easily and I don’t know why the referee didn’t book him having not given the penalty.

“I’ve seen them given but I’ve not touched him. It would have been very harsh and I think the referee made the right call.”

Any videos on this incident? Struggled to find anything since.

Just want to mention - because I haven't seen it lauded elsewhere - what a sensational pass that was from Bobby to Mane, the line was inch perfect taking out 4 defenders and weighted to perfection too. Awesome, I nearly creamed myself when he made it.

It is nice when out shit players create and score goals. At least "shit" was what he was branded in the match thread.

I rewatched the 2nd half and actually Firmino did a lot of not so noticeable, but useful things there, including being involved in all 3 goals: no-look pass to Mane for the 1st, won the free-kick for 2nd and obviously scored the 3rd. I think I understand why Klopp put him at #10 – he was getting frustrated with lack of service up front and the move further back gives him a chance to touch the ball a lot more often, which is important for any Brazilian 🙂 Once he recovers his swagger (this game was a step in right direction), hopefully he will go back up front.

perfect assessment!

Firmino had a very good game indeed, nobody was wonderful, especially in the first 60 minutes, but he was our most influential attacking player.

About time, too.

Hughes on penalty:

[article]“I’ve not seen it back again, but I felt a little contact and I’ve gone over,” he said. “Whether or not it’s enough contact (to give a penalty) I’m not sure."[/article]
