Watford have had a decent a start to the premiership. Currently in 7th place.
4 match unbeaten streak
Decent away record with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss.
Conceded 13 goals, like us.

Key players:
Striker, Troy Deeney, 3 goals
Midfielder, Capoue, 4 goals
Left winger, Holebas, 2 goals, 1 assist

Key areas:
Both flanks. With Watford utilising a 3-5-2 system, wingers Holebas and Janmaat providing crosses from deep.

We need to be wary of Deeney and Capoue. They've got Capoue as the playmaker in midfield who needs to be kept in check.
Playing away from home I think we will mostly see Watford sitting quite deep with a 5-3-2 formation.

Predicting the line up for this one is difficult, I personally think we need Wijnaldum rather than Can in midfield to help unlock their defence. Milner should be fit again after his illness.

I'd go with.

-------------------Karius

Clyne----Matip--------Lovren--------Milner

-----------------Henderson
------Lallana--------------Winaldum

Mané-----------Firmino------------Coutinho

-----------------Karius------------------
Clyne---Matip-------Lovren---Milner
----------Hendo-----Wijnaldum------
-----------------Firmino----------------
---Mane------Sturridge-----Coutinho

Maybe swapping around Firmino and Coutinho, though that front four is fairly interchangeable.

Yes to the lineups above. Just no Can-Henderson without either Lallana or Wijnaldum in midfield.

Actually think Lallana would have a very important role to play in that team, but still another player in the box could be a good thing.
The most important thing is having players comfortable playing in tight spaces hence why I want Wijnaldum on the pitch rather than Can.

If Sturridge starts, it should be alongside Origi, and the team should switch to a diamond. Otherwise we're just wasting the wide players because they'll have no space to run into, and no movement from Sturridge to exploit and react to.

The Palace team, bar maybe Gini for Can, is what I'd be hoping to see. Oh sorry, Milner to come back in if he's fit.

Watford are solid but not spectacular. I'd be hoping we'd over run their midfield in the early stages and blast them away.

So long as Moreno doesn't play - arsed. If we have aspirations we should expect to win this comfortably

Modo's team, no doubt. Need the movement of Gini and Lallana. Keep the front 3 and get Milner back in the team.

Due to our lack of games, we should play our strongest team and not rotate. If fit:

-----------------Karius------------------
Clyne---Matip-------Lovren---Milner
------Henderson-----Wijnaldum------
-----------------Lallana----------------
---Mane-------Firmino-----Coutinho

That's a good team, but - goalkeeping joke aside - would you drop Lallana?

Not particularly, but I thought he looked sluggish in the last game coming back from the injury. It's a tough one to call really, we need to get about them in midfield, but I think this is also the ideal game to play Sturridge. On the flip side, it's difficult to drop any of the front three.

Fucking bastards.

I've backed 6 or more goals most games this season, when I've remembered... I think I got 14/1 against Arsenal, 12/1 against Hull. It was only 10/1 on Saturday... But I've just checked on Coral and it's now 13/2. They're onto us. Boooooo

Six goals in the game?

We have a good week of training to prepare for the game. With a little bit of competition for places it should be a good week at Melwood. Watford has looked strong so far, but they need to prepare well for Sunday!! Why is it sunday game when we dont play in Europe?

Watford picked up what probably was the easiest three points of their season last winter with that 3-0 paddling they gave us.

I'll take a single goal win and 3 points gladly .

Thought I'd try a PES analysis of our first team players and determine their current form.

Me & the lad are coming over for this one. Put all your money on 5-0 with Can scoring first ... thats what he'll make me bet on, and last time we were over Joe Pirlo won him the price of a new shirt

If play
Mignolet
Milner
Matip
Lovren
Clyne

Wijnaaldum
Henderson
Lallana

Firmino
Sturridge
Coutinho

I thought Mane looked pooped the last game, the burst of pace was missing.
Id give him a week off.
