I don't get it though - ticket sales are a relatively minuscule part of revenue. How much is this tiny increase going to make? Like canceling the Xmas party. What is the point?

There may be a longer game in building a business case for stadium expansion / rebuild. And I don’t think they’re just thinking about tickets, they’re looking at anything fans pay for.
It’s classic business mis-management, looking for micro-savings here and there rather than taking the bull by the horns and looking at football spending. Brailsford and his marginal gains bullshit. You only go after marginal gains if your foundations are solid, United’s aren’t.
Yep, the culture is shifting to “do whatever Big Jim Ratcliffe wants… or else”, unless you’re a footballer, then you can continue getting paid for being shite.
The biggest fuck up was extending 7Hag’s contracts. We knew they had doubts about him and had even discussed changing him in the summer by talking about other managers to the over the role so why extend the deal when he still had 12 months to go? They then backed him with another £200m summer spree in the transfer market. It shows how inept the club and management actually are. They instigated the mess themselves and are now furiously trying to get out of it.

That was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen in football. He so obviously had to be sacked. It was blatantly over.
It's such a long way back from here. And now they're faced with trying to back Amorim with money they haven't got to sign players who will only be useful in a system used by a manager who they'll only know is good enough after it's all already been spent.
They’re fucked. New old Trafford is going to cost well in excess of £2bn. The fact that Jim is looking for Bezos or that Nazi Musk to try to assist in funding the stadium tells me everything you need to know. Even Jim can’t afford to run the club. God bless the Glazers

Well, that’s the tricky part isn’t it, as the Rashford situation shows - Big Jim can’t sack them or “re-trench” or offer them new working T&Cs and whatever team they go to will have to pay them Man Utd wages.
The only attractive players will be the youngsters who are actually good - no-one’s giving Rashford £350k a week or whatever Casemiro is on, etc, so they’ll wear a pile of those costs for years or have to take a massive hit without the wiggle room to bring in anyone.
I’d be trying to sign Manoo off them just to piss them off.
