Trent, Salah and VVD

Madrid is one of the easiest teams to look good in. 90% of La Liga teams are shite and bend over for Madrid.

Look at Bellingham, looks a world beater there and he’s not that much better than everyone else in the world.

Personally I don’t see Trent going as that big of a loss.

He’s goals and assists have dried up massively in the last two years since he’s developed a chip on his shoulder, he’s still one of the worst full backs in the league defensively (granted he has improved slightly this season) and our new patient possession based football doesn’t allow him to showcase his range of passing as much as yesteryear.
Its only a huge loss financially. In terms of on the pitch he's not that big a loss.

that may be the case but their fans are unforgiving arseholes that could be on his case pretty quickly, he lives something of a charmed life at liverpool imo and hasn’t had to deal with this side of things.

i also don’t think madrid will indulge any midfield ambitions, lack of effort, freedom to be a creator or forgive defensive duties. their long standing right back has been a grafter, unglamorous but ultra competitive, hard working and ironically an academy graduate. it’s not the easiest act to follow.
A couple of sexy passes a game and the odd free kick and he’ll be fine, I think he’d be a huge success there tbh.

The thing is, do we feel that Trent deserves to be the highest paid player in the club/league? Thats probably what he's looking at.

Worst part is that we can only blame ourselves for getting in this extremely unnecessary position.

No. But is it what he can expect at RM (I've no idea)?

It’s no Woland material. I was wandering as lonely as a cloud when I wrote it

I can't understand those of you who claim that Trent shows great leadership... How? When? In his constant shirking of his defensive duties..? In watching Mo sprint past him to defend the space HE should be in..?

He's a lot of positive things, he may well be adored in the dressing room and he can still pass a ball as well as anybody on earth... Of that, there is no doubt. But he is NOT a leader on that pitch. And, if you wanna tell me I'm wrong, that's fine, but before you do, go back and watch our vice-captain's effort to stop those bitter blue cnuts scoring their 2nd goal at the shed last season - And THAT level of effort was when we still had an outside chance of winning the league.

Leader, my hole.
