Toure

We have made 29 fuckups this season that's led to goals or chances apparently way more than any other team in the league according to some stat....28 of which came before Gerrard played as a DM. We..I mean Ryan and his blind followers were happy to blame our defenders in those 28 cases and absolve our DM. Our DM was not to be blamed if we didn't score then, and our DM was not to be blamed if we leaked goals then.

But Gerrard is to be blamed for this gigantic fuck up from kolo? Take your analysis and shove it up your area Ryan.

I felt more comfortable when Gerrard was tracking runs from midfield. They never looked like scoring. I said in the match thread that it would be nice if he was a little bit further up when we were in possession. It seemed to me like a tactical mistake on his part or due to instructions he got.

How anyone can pin that like loss on Gerrard is beyond me, and he did not show a lack of willingness to work for the team as someone else mentioned earlier in the thread as well.....some of you are just being cunts.

I suppose Rogers would argue that playing like that is exactly what worked so well against Everton, drawing them further & further forwards & then hitting them in the counter.

I'm not saying I'm for it, quite the opposite, it scares me shitless when we fuck about with it at the back so much, but I'm sure it's quite intentional, & I'd like to see how effective it'd be with our fist choice centrebacks & two quality in form full backs.

I also believe it is intentional, it gives Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling more space to run into and be more effective. The downside to this tactic is a leaky defence, though it is not often it has cost us points-wise this season.

Right let keep this thread about Toure...

It was a stupid mistake to make, under no pressure what-so-ever.. but yeah he doesn't deserve to be hung out to dry....

I just hope those points dropped don't come back to bite us at the end of the season..
It was but it's not like he did it in injury time. We had plenty of time to still go and win it and just didn't. The whole team is to blame

Couldn't agree more, I just can't believe how they can attribute it to Gerrard. Kolo a few minutes earlier made a stupid challenge which cost a free kick from a dangerous area which Brunt took so he should have bloody bucked up his ideas. He's a nice guy Kolo, plays with his heart which Skrtle kind of does as well but fuck me, he can't be relied upon and will do silly things. He will do as cover this season but really can't see him starting next season, hope not anyway.

Played well yesterday, didn't he ? Totally bossed the Arse.

Jesus Ryan, it's not like you to highlight the negative in your posts after our games.

How about discuss the many, many good things that's going for this Liverpool side? Just for a little change?

No happy clappy, oh we're the perfect team stuff but it's not uncool to be positive from time to time.

Check this season's post-match threads Gary. You'll see then you're talking shite.

My bad. Apologies.

As for Kolo. Great bloke and all the rest but yes, he needs benching and will be with Agger coming back. Hopefully for the Cup game at Arsenal on Sunday.

Our defence hasn't been right all season, but to be fair Rodgers hasn't had much of an opportunity to pick a settled back 4 due to injuries.

Another howler today but it was somewhat unlucky as opposed to switching off against West Brom.

Carra scored plenty like that in his day.

I still prefer him in the team when its back to the walls against a big side.

But I'd be very surprised if Agger doesn't start againts Arsenal

Imagine if Lucas had done what Toure did against West Brom and last night. Heh.

But Kolo gets away with it cos he's shouty, finger-pointy, and a warrior or some bollocks. He's largely shite, and as I predicted months ago when the rest of you were dishing out cult hero status - he'd cost us points in the second half of the season.

I'll be staggered if he starts another league game for us ever.

I think it's a much bigger problem if your first choice DM is misplacing passes and scoring OG's than if your fourth choice CB is doing that.

Fortunately our first choice DM (I assume you're referring to Lucas here) doesn't misplace passes or score own goals then.

I also think it's a big problem if any of our fucking players misplace passes and score own goals - regardless of what ranking you afford them.

It shouldn't be excused just because he's down the pecking order. It should be fucked off.

I'd be more concerned as to why our DM is in the position to score an og in the first place.

That goal was just a freak.

The west Brom one was poor but he has largely been superb this season. Your selective memory is laughable.

I'll join you in making an irrational and needless point, I'll venture that a seasoned winner joining our club has brought a wealth of experience and the ability to promote togetherness which is paying dividends and shows in our league position.

He's made two real gaffs in recent weeks, the conditions weren't great yesterday, he's also been impeccable for much of the season. Bit rich you going on about Lucas, who's been dividing opinion for over half a decade, but Toure (two times title winner) makes two mistakes and suddenly the "oracle" Ryan is right again.

Well it's not against the grain that a DM would be there defending a ball in, but anyway, there's a valid point in there. Lucas makes clumsy tackles every season in his zones of the pitch, something he's never learned from. Toure's pass against West Brom was ridiculoous (even though the super oracle blamed Gerrard, one of Ryan's more hilarious efforts), yesterday the conditions were awful, shit happens. Like I said, he's that "terrible" as Ryan asserted (and has now been proven right about, appaz), that he's won something none of our players have (twice!) and has for the most part, been a very good signing.

Well actually his poor clearance header indirectly led to the second goal as well to be fair, although Fulham obviously were trying to exploit the strong and swirling wind by playing so many long balls up to Bent- very difficult to defend against in the conditions. Anyone else have the Benny Hill theme in their head when the ball is near Kolo

Shades of Djimi against Burnley that og.

It wasn't a genuine bobble either where the ball is rolling along the ground and suddenly pops up, it was bouncing along anyway, he should of read that and why was he off balance like that? there is no excuse for him.

I like him, hes played well overall but screw that now, he has to and will be benched for the rest of the season, these individual gifts really have to stop now, we simply can't afford to keep doing it.

It looked pretty bad but come on - It was a freak own goal. Nothing more. Besides anyone that absolutely flattens Phil Dowd is alright in my book.

Ok Ryan. I'll talk to Rodgers tomorrow over dinner.

I think the pressure of having such strong CB's waiting to come in if you fuck up has knocked him a lot. I think if he was guaranteed his place he'd be playing much better as he's not the type to ever give less than 100% or get complacent. But he's play on the ball of late has stubk of a player playing with the fear that 1 mistake will cost him his place. He's over thinking everything now and it's effecting him badly.

I still love him though. Who the fuck blames the grass when you score and own goal. Lol

Sweet lord Dreamy! Can you sort your grammar and general spelling out lad? Cheers me dears.

Kolo is our fourth choice centre back, and as a fourth choice I think he's very good. Barring Skrtel we're effectively playing with a second choice back line, yet we're still pressing for the league, when a fourth spot challenge was the best we could have hoped for at the beginning of the season, sometimes a little perspective helps.
