Buenos Diaz

Diaz is better 1 v 1 with the ball at his feet.

Mane used to be great at it, but has lost the explosion of pace. So now is just a very good off the ball runner.

Salah has always been an off the ball runner.

And Jota plays like a CF, a good mover in the box, but outside the box, his movement can be found wanting at times.

Also when it comes to fucking SIMPLE PASSING, Diaz seems to be able to make the simple passes far better than the other 3 (has his head up more too). The other 3 can sometimes have me tearing my hair out (I don't have any), with an underhit/overhit pass. I'm pretty sure Diaz's ball retention must be the best of the front 4.

I've left Bobby out of this comparison as he hasn't played in a while, and I kind of feel like we've seen the best of him, now that Mane is practically our best CF, and Jota is the number 2 there. (Mind, Bobby is still probably our most intelligent, pressing, selfless CF and finder of space between the lines).

I think in the summer, I wouldn't be opposed to adding another winger to alternate with Mo.

LW: Diaz 1, Mane 2, Jota 3
CF: Mane 1, Jota 2, Bobby 3
RW: Mo 1, ?

Everyone other than Mo has been shit lately on the RW (and whilst Sadio used to play there, he only did when he had EXPLOSIVE pace, which has now gone; he's much better on LW just cutting in and shooting)

Maybe it's harsh but to me Jota almost seemed to be overachieving with his goals per game/performances.
Diaz seems to have undelivered on goals and assists relative to the level of his performances and I am hopeful/expectant that he will explode next season once he has a full pre season training with Liverpool under his belt.

I think Carvalho will be that winger. He can play across the front 3 from what I've seen. I can see Klopp giving him a go on the right, and eventually moving him to the center once his body fills out.

He’s gonna go full on swag after banging in the winner against Madrid. He’ll grow balls the size of a T. rex.

LFC's Luis Díaz has played more matches in 2021-22 for club(s) and country (64) than any other professional in world football. Of the 5 players on 60+ games for club & country in the world, Mo Salah & Sadio Mané are both on 60, with a possible 6 more to come.

Jaysus. Our boys will be leaving this season in an Iron Lung.

I don't think he's overachieved at all. His record for goals scored with his right, left, and head (all pretty much even, showing the effort he's put in to hone his skills), and his movement in getting into scoring positions to me shows he's absolutely deserved his goals to game ratio. It's just that when you compare him to a player with Diaz's crazy skills it's quite easy to underrate him. He's a very good football player.

Bad news for Jota is now that Mane took over the CF spot, he will find himself competing with Diaz for the LW spot where he is not nearly as effective as in the box. Klopp might find some solution to that next season, but for now Jota will have to try to impact games from the bench.

Yep, it's tough on Jota because he has generally excelled since coming here, but he got injured at the wrong time and Diaz and Mane have become guaranteed starters. That said, he was on the bench at Wolves 18 months ago, and now is competing for a quadruple, so there's that.

He deserves to get minutes in the CL final if the game needs and allows.

I agree with all your points but I feel Salah actually was someone who was known for his 1-1 dribbling hence why they called him Egyptian Messi. But I do admit I though as he bulked up and started to use his pace more he's become someone who can do both the off the ball stuff and the 1-1 stuff

He doesnt look like a player that has played 64 games with the energy he brings during our games.
But Klopp might give him more rest because of it.
I guess playing for Porto isn't as demanding on the body as it is for us so maybe that's actually helped his current condition

Yeah.

Salah has improved a lot in his creativity on the ball this season. Some v good 1 v 1 moments (City, Watford). And some excellent playmaking too (Robbo vs Everton goal for example).

Mane's a streaky player and not as quick as he used to be. Jota may end up getting more games than some of you seem to be assuming.

Proof that Klopps hugs are worth the extra effort. From Diaz's ma'

“He doesn’t hold grudges against anyone because he’s always been simple since he was a child, humble; I’ve seen him the same way since he was a child,” Cilenis told Semana Marulanda (via Sport Witness). “He tells me, ‘the manager likes me; when I play my games, he hugs me’, and he has also been able to get along with his teammates. They welcome him for being the way he is.

Great stuff. Ever since I saw him play for the first time I've got a vibe from him that he's chuffed to bits to be here, and this backs that up.
