No one's really mentioned his contribution to the other night, I thought he was was immense. As far as free transfers go, I think we are getting a decent return, his passion is brilliant and aside from the odd game, he's been a good solid acquisition. Certainly better than some of the jibes he was given in the Summer when it was first mooted to be happening.

Did anyone see him thump the air to the fans on Tuesday, right before he headed down the tunnel? Brilliant.

Definitely not been receiving the praise he has deserved (along with a couple of others in defence of late, injuries seem to be skewing views) of late, he has been really solid for the most part and is the kind of player you know boosts the whole team, whether through experience or application.

I was happy in the summer when he came, and I'm happy now.

Skrtel hasn't been getting enough plaudits for me.

But that's another thread

Toure has been boss since he's arrived.

Yeah we all bang on about Rodgers wasting money on Allen and Borini, but what about TOURE. Put that in your pipe and smoke it you negative naybobs.

Net Spend Baby!

Still think Toure ... Sakho is our best CB partnership. Toure wears his heart on his sleeve and is a born fighter. As Macca said when Toure is in possession I have no worries, and I don't doubt he will distribute it well, the same can not be said for all our CBs. He can't 'alf jump for a relative little 'un too !

I get the feeling he's a really positive senior presence in the dressing room also. From reading the interviews he does, its impossible to dislike him.

Thats what the lads at Arsenal and City said aswell. Our last two performances have been much improved defensively imho.

I've still not forgiven him for bottling the ramsey shot. He'll need a few Henchoz specials for me to forgive him.

I said to Frogfish that he's our 4th best CB imo and I stand by it but i still think he's boss.

We're getting a decent collection of players in multiple positions.

Bar 2 very dodgy performances he's been superb. He's what your dreaming about when you pick up a free transfer of a senior player who has won league titles. Sadly we normally get the Joe Coles of this world.
Hats off to Rogers a brilliant signing and hats off to Toure for taking his chances when they come

A calm head, experienced, likeable, will to win, gets us, and had a cracking game the other night. I was gutted when we signed him as I've always thought he was shit. I was wrong.

Put Toure in anytime and you know he will perform. Solid, reliable and a leader. Love his attitude.

He started out at Arsenal as a DM, didn't he? Could he do a temporary job there now?

Yup, I remember him starting there. He hasn't played there in ages though; not sure if he has the legs for it anymore. I'd rather see us give Rossiter a shot though if push came to shove (e.g. if we lost another midfielder... hope not!).

My reading of the Toure situation is that he got frustrated at Citeh sitting on the bench watching lesser (or at least less fully developed) players get picked ahead of him because of the money they cost. Since coming to us he's been given the respect he deserves, and he's loving it.

Tony Evans in the Times webchat yesterday was of the opinion that Rodgers actually doesn't fancy any of our CBs. Been actively trying to flog off Agger because his wages are just too ridiculous considering he's injured most of the time. I know Evans is sort of a bitter cunt, but maybe this explains Rodgers chop and change experiments in defence.

Tony Evans is a class A wanker. Wouldn't take any notice of what he has to say.

Just listening to him do an interview on talksport, he's so insanely likeable, and so proud of the team he plays with, very happy he's here.

I was gutted when I heard we were going for toure. I remember his performances for city and thought he was shit. But since he's come here he's been immense. Thought it was harsh when he got dropped in the first place as he was playing so well. Sakho and toure would be my preferred pairing. But I cant argue against anyone picking skrtel as he's been immense as well.
