Nah he's shit.
I hate shit people being cocky too.
He can fuck off to a shit team the shit cocky cunt.

No. Ibe can do what he can do and is much younger. There is no way Sterling should lose playing time to this guy.

A midfielder who scores goals................Hope we are in for him.

Will probably going to Swansea, shine for 2 seasons and move again for 20 million.

I don't think Brendan getting any money, he bought Tiago Illori for 7 million, and the only time we saw him in our shirt was for the photo shoot!

I mean ffs 7 million for what? He isn't injured or anything and can't even get other bench.

Seriously we need to fucken wake up, and listen to our scouts, or get better scouts if they missing good players.

If its true, it's just dire.

United sign Mata and we get Ince.

We won't catch City and Chelsea for a while. Arsenal are ahead of us and signing top players.

United and Spurs are vulnerable so we need to capitalise now more than ever as it won't last and gambling on young, unproven players isn't the way to do it.

Ibe is a tad faster than Ince, and is now pretty much as comfortable on one wing as he is on the other, and he has a far better attitude, so I can't see there's any truth in this story, it just wouldn't make sense.

What the fuck is the Ian Ayre quote on Twitter?

"Don't forget three years ago we had 300 Million debt, and we are still chipping away at that"

I know twitters all me arsenal but..... That can't be a real quote?

This is getting fucking boring now we don't need another fucking attacker. We need a top class CM or DM and an LB at least.

Aspas and Illori = Salah fee

Aspas and Illori = Salah fee

In a completely different transfer window. I get the reasoning, Aspas is a failure and Ilori is a young commodity we arguably could have done without, but all this "we signed player X last year when we could have used that money now to buy player Y", is a bit of a fruitless argument.

Not having a go at you, but there are plenty of posters on this forum who use that reasoning, the same ones who are kicking off in every thread because we haven't signed just anyone, so if we'd come out the Summer with just Toure, Mignolet, Sakho plus two loan signings, I'm sure there would have been a few moaners. There was anyway.

And for the record, our valuation of Salah was £8m, he's gone to Chelsea for £11m plus add on's that could reportedly total £16m - people are acting like it's "just a couple of million", having watched a youtube video and without really knowing the ins and outs of the deal. That's without considering the current level of attraction, and for most, without even knowing if the lad is any good.

That concerned me too when I read it yesterday (not on Twitter). I think that figure was the debt we had when FSG took over. A quick glance at Google says the last debt reported was £87m. I don't know the structure of that. That Irish lad who seems popular and loves eating ought to be able to shed some light on this.

I need to make a record of you lot writing off Ilori for not factoring into the first team, while he was never expected to contribute this season anyways. He's rightfully regarded as one of the best CB talents in the world, I have no idea why people keep saying he's a failed signing/money sunk.

Him and Sakho together is the long term solution to central defence, that's been the plan since this summer. That's absolutely worth the investment, as sure of a guarantee at a world class CB pairing as you can get for anywhere near the price.

Whirly, nobody is writing off Illori, he is a luxury (we have more than enough CB) we could ill afford. Make a record of that!

Mark, I'm talking from a purely financial point of view. Aspas was always going to be a squad player and Illori is one for the future. That money could have been invested in a first team member who could actually have went straight into the starting XI.

We don't have any long term solutions at CB outside of Sakho at this point. Having young depth isn't a luxury in the modern game, it's a requisite. If you really think that more than 1 of Kolo/Skrtel/Agger are going to be squad fixtures past next season, then it's a valid point, but I can't see it playing out like that. Sakho is a squad fixture, but Agger/Skrtel/Kolo are all fairly average, and we don't have much of anybody in the pipeline given Coates tearing his ACL.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all that, sure now we could be using an extra DM, regardless of if they were a fairly average player given our options, but it's absurd to track all the way back to the summer window. I imagine having an extra 8M now wouldn't make a difference in if we sign someone or not, 15M even. I'm sure there's a 15-20M pool available if we pull the strings we need to, it's just a matter of actually finding the right target, agreeing on him, negotiating a deal, and completing a signing that we keep getting hung up on.

Surely we can't simultaneously be broke and be scouting Salah for several months. The front office would know the FFP situation well before the window and wouldn't even bother with the intensive scouting and talks given we had no funds anyways, unless we planned on moving some players, which clearly hasn't been the case. There hasn't been a single decent rumor indicating we're looking to sell anybody in several months, which is telling as well.

All this tells me that we have money to spend, but can't find the right target to spend it on. Whether or not that hurts us in the long run remains to be seen, but for the time being it's not looking fantastic.

I'd say we're odds on to sign him so.

Buying a player with real class who is young enough to become a fixture here for years is not a luxury, it's a sensible investment, no matter what our immediate goals are - we need to cover both objectives all the time. Ilori is the classiest defender we've bought in ages.

Agree, we Need to Keep Balance between future and present Needs. Illori , if I check transfermarket.de after 3 years I hope his value will be at least 20m.
