Positives:

- Gerrard, once he gets healthy, is the key to getting 4th place ... sad.
- Ngog is proving to be a very capable young striker, he's not there yet but he's improving.
- Mascherano is doing his best to push us forward ... He's going to fetch us 25-30 mill next summer (though if I was Barca, I'd put that into Pepe Reina ... They don't need Mascher)

Negatives:

- I am still a fan of Insua, but he's not ready to be our every day LB. Still needs a lot of work.
- I know we have a lot of posters who 'back' Lucas, but today highlighted why he shouldn't be starting every bloody game. He cannot impose himself on a game against a top 5 Hungarian team. I just find myself pitying the player. I hope someone comes in for him this summer and Rafa accepts the fact he's not good enough for our team.
- Dirk Kuyt is stuck in his now expected 2-3 month 'shit form' stage. He adds nothing on the right flank and when Magic is struggling, it highlights how bloody poor he really is.
- Rafa's subs ... I just don't get it.
- WELL DONE RAFA on playing Aqua for 27 seconds. Let's hope there's a bloody good reason for this, as this kid's body language just looks defeated already

Last but not least, the team looks devoid of confidence and ideas in the attacking third. It was just difficult to watch today, and I expected us to lose the lead (and was surprised we didn't) in the end. When I saw the Viola result (well done Roopy), I wasn't even remotely upset. We are so poor right now, and I'm starting to feel that Rafa has lost it completely.

I just hope the team 'cares' enough to try against Everton ...

Positives:

- Aquilani's gonna get a game now! A dead-rubber against Fiorentina, woohoo! I'm sure this is all part of Rafa's masterplan to ease him in gradually.

Hopefully he pairs him with Plessis.

Adjusted for accuracy.

-Agger showed why he and Carra are our best centre backs.

-And out of form Kuyt has the touch of a Clydesdale

-With Aurelio, Mascher, Lucas and Kuyt we had one of the slowest, non creative and zero goalthreatning midfields ever

-Reina is ace

I was going to mention that. A semi-fit Agger has been a far better performer this year than Skrtel. I think we know who our two best CBs are ... Agger is class. Now if only he can stay healthy.

I didn't get to watch the game.........

Did we chances to make it more than one Nil i.e. bad misses cost us or was there nothing created? (cant be bothered to go through match thread!)

Cheers

I thought Gerrard spoke really well in the post match interview. He was fairly honest but upbeat enough, as you'd need him to be.

I just feel sorry for the guy, a player of his level has spent so much of his career playing alongside such shit players.

Insua is fucking shit, and I fucking hate him

Kucarse is fucking shit and I fucking *despise* him

Going out of Europe in a group like that is fucking shit

+'s

Ngog was very good, another goal, very promising
Johnson, Carra, Agger & Reina were solid
Mascher was top class
Gerrard was decent and should be up for sunday after a near full 90 mins
Lucas is not a crap player

-'s

Lucas is not a good player
Insua was poor
Kuyt was awful
Aquilani still has fuck all match fitness (3 months after he signed for 20 million and 1 month since he played against Arsenal)
We scored one shitty little goal against one of the worst teams i've ever seen and in the end nearly lost the lead

That's the sort of in-depth analysis we've all been waiting for.

Ryan, what is there to say about the reasons why we could have easily not won that game at the last, demonstrating the same weaknesses that have seen us out of Europe in prior games, demonstrating the same weaknesses that have cost us tons of points in the league, that hasn't already been said a billion times?

He was the only one of the midfield four looking to create anything, and that says a lot for the rest considering hes a defensive midfielder

The damage was done long before this game so I had already written us of as being in the Europa league or whatever the fuck you called it however
- Rafas subs were Glock weird (again)
- Insua was pish (again)
- Lucas is shit
- Maybe a shitty win against a crap team will be the start of a run of results
- If we get beat by Everton Rafa should go and Kenny should be caretaker until someone good becomes free (and NOT Louis Van Gaal, I'd rather have Alan Pardew than that twat)
- I really hope Reira is back for the weekend, despite his limitations the team plays better when he is on the pitch

Sadly true at the moment.

My thoughts now are... I am dreading our next game against the blues.

Johnson was not solid, he was fucked and didn't/couldn't get up field for most of the second half.
[/quote]

Is correct.

Kuyt did well in ensuring johnson was never left exposed, and that zero attacks commenced down Debrecen's left. I suspect that was an instruction from Rafa that Glenjo had his arse covered all night by Dirk.

Bit of a contrast between that and what 'support' Fabulous gave insua on the other side.

Perhaps hes a bit unfit considering hes played fuck all lately but solid enough none the less. Dont remember him making any mistakes.

In that case maybe Kuyt should play at right back with glenjo ahead of him. Now theres an idea.

He certainly did not play well going forward...but ok defensively. Nothing to shout about.

Positives:

- N'gog has now 5 goal in 8 games this season, despite playing up front on his own in a struggling team.

About time people started recognising that he's not "shit".
