How do people see it going ?

City have to start as favourites obviously, I'm not sure they can be any better than they were last season though even if Tevez plays all year long.

United had more injuries than anyone else last season, so if that corrects itself you'd have to think they might improve regardless of the addition of Kagawa.

I don't think Chelsea will be at the races this season, I wouldn't be comfortable relying on Torres for the season.

Arsenal are my dark horse, particularly if they keep RVP

Sahin on the right? really?
It seems logical considering the player we have but I'm not sure if it's practical.

It's gonna be City, Chelsea and United, it'll be tight with those three. Then it'll be us, Arsenal and Spurs going for fourth, Arsenal will probably get it.

1st - City & Manure

3rd-5th - Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle

I think we may be a dark horse but I need to see how we do in our first 5 games before really believing we can push for anything other than 6th.

Chelsea - will struggle due to Cech, Terry/Luiz partnership, Mikel being their best DM and reliance on Torres for a) Drogba's presence and b) the bulk of their goals

Arsenal - 3 of their 4 defenders are shakey (Sagna, Kolihoweveryouspellity & Gibbs), no DM if Wilshere is out and Song sold, and unproven strikers if RvP moves on. If everything goes right, they may surprise.

The Manchester clubs will be the top 2. Arsenal and maybe Chelsea in the strongest position for 3rd and 4th. Hard to know what Spurs will do, Newcastle as well. Hopefully we will be in the mix for 3rd and 4th.

With 2 weeks plus of the transfer season to go it's still a bit iffy to call with any certainty however at the moment I'd go :

1. City (attack A. midfield A. defence B++).
2. United (A, B, B)
3-5 Liverpool (poss A, poss A, B+) / Arsenal (without RvP : B, B, B) / Chelsea (poss A, A, B-)
6. Spurs (expected to be without Modric : B-, B, B-)
7-8 Newcastle & Everton

Newcastle seemed to have a lot of stuffy results last season. Not sure they will be quite so 'lucky' this season.
I think Everton wil have another decent season and push the Barcodes.
Spurs don't look like they are going to get the squad together that AvB wants.
Arsenal have weaknesses in that defence that Wenger seems to be ignoring and a completely untried forward line that is intended to replace RvP. Hmmm.
Chelsea have also made big changes but I think Torres will come good this season. Defence still an issue.
United look like they will have an awesome forward line that will over-compensate for a dodgy midfield and defence.
City only look like they will improve.

I agree with everyone of those with the exception of Lucas being better than Song, and I dont think Hazard is as good as Bale.
Other than that id agree totally.
How does that tally up?
Spurs - 2
United - 2
Chelsea - 1
Arsenal - 1
Citeh - 4
Liverpool - 5

Pretty conclusive evidence.
Sadly once again if only we could get our fucking wings right...

United will win it. Vidic being out all year was the only reason they didn't win it last year.

Mancini will be gone within 12 months. That relationship with him and the board just isn't gonna last.

And he gets even more egotistical everytime he opens his gob, he seems to fancy himself as a bit of a Mourinho, but he lacks the charisma and just sounds like a gobshite.

It wasn't the only reason as Jones and Smalling were adequate replacements. They lacked a central midfield presence. Their FBs were average (at best) and De Gea went through some growing pains before settling down.

They lost the league title because they fucked up in the end. Doesn't matter how bad their central midfield is, it's still somehow good enough for a title challenge.

As long as the Scum or Chavs don't win it and Newcastle go well shit, I'm not arsed.

I think City must start as strong favourites, they have the best squad in the league, and the mental boost that comes from winning will stand to them this year, last season they contrived as hard as possible to fuck it up and still managed to win i dont expect them to be as wasteful this season. Tevez Aguero and Balotelli are better than any front 3 in the league and Dzeko is a different option from the bench. Toure is the most dominant midfielder in the league and Kompany is

Utds collapse at the end of the season was the most spectacular I can remember in a very long time, it suggests that the mentality that once made them such an unstoppable force is not there anymore. Dragging Scholes out of retirement told you alot about the strength of their squad and the faith Ferguson has in the young players, Kagawa should do well there but I dont think the younger players like Jones Smalling Welbeck and Cleverly are anything near the quality that City have.I think Ferguson took them as far as he could last season but the quality of previous years just isnt there, Chelsea have upped the ante in pursuit of City and I dont think Utd can answer them

I would say

1st City
2nd Chelsea
3rd Utd
4th hard to call but Arsenal if the hold VanPersie have had a fantastic summer, if he moves on then Spurs

Dont see us finishing top 4 this year, but a genuine challenge as opposed to last years limp dicked surrender would be a vast improvement

Newcastle? Really Wiz, I can't see them above us next year in a million years, particularly if they don't sort the problem if Ba and Cisse going missing

regards

They're buying good, talented players and the team plays for each other and the gaffa. You're right re: Cisse and Ba, but I'm trying to downplay my own excitement for the upcoming season. It will save me the many nights of anger and disappointment! 😉

If we get Sahin and a decent winger forward, we'll be right up there challenging for 4th.

Spurs and Newcastle will finish behind us.
