The front three

Sturridge is gone this summer, I think at a minimum we need to sign somebody who can provide a real alternative to Firmino. Ideally we would also buy a youngish player who could play the no10 role but the priority has to be a more direct option upfront.

We definitely top class alternatives. We can’t continue relying on backups like Origi and Sturridge.

It’s not going to be easy finding the right player(s) but we can’t skimp again. The defence and midfield got all the cash last summer, it’s the attack’s turn now.

We are still light at fullback with Clyne and Moreno likely gone this summer. I think we need a LB who can allow us to take some pressure off Robbo, hes playing too many games.

I’ve said it for a while but I love Mane.

17 goals this season so far and only two off the top goalscorer in the league.

He’ll surely get 20 goals which is a superb return from a wide attacking player.

He’s had a great knack of finding his scoring boots every time Salah’s have deserted him this season.

Love his never hide attitude.

That stat means that Firmino has scored double figures every season he has been at Liverpool, and doing it over 4 seasons is the highest number of seasons a player has scored double figures 100% of the time. Every time.

Eg. Salah has done it for his two seasons. Mane for his three.

Owen DIDN'T do it because when he first broke onto the scene he played two games at the end of the season and scored one goal. Therefore, Michael Owen didn't score double figures in each of his seasons at Liverpool.

Boom.

No, hes not as important as VvD or Allison, hes arguably behind Fabinho Robbo and Mané too.

Salah is still the first attacker on the team sheet as even when he doesn’t score he draws so much attention.

Him and Mane neck and neck.

Firmino wouldn’t even be the fifth name on the the team sheet nevermind the first.

Lallana (and a couple of games ago Milner too) demonstrated that they need an AM in that midfield who joins them in pressing the opposition. Made a huge world of difference today. They definitely need someone trusted to rotate in with them though.

DB is having a stinker. Firmino is SO important to how we play.

He’s been shite this season for the most part and we haven’t done too badly.

I didn’t say I wouldn’t play him I’m merely highlighting he isn’t our most important player.

Far from it in fact.

Mane played in his position against Watford and destroyed them.

We have quiet a few more important players.
