We have no choice our midfield is dreadful and our strike force is exceptional, we are just playing to our strengths. We played 5 midfielders today and still got totally over run, we need better options because currently we only look competent against poor sides

We look very good against all the sides apart from the top 6.

That's enough points to get you top 4 most season's.

I just wish we could play like that for the majority of teams then play a more measured possession style against the top sides.

And as i said in the match thread , i don't for the life of me understand why we just sit back and try to defend these leads . Don't get me wrong i don't expect us to go all kamikaze but do we really need to sit so deep and try and hit them on the break so early in the game ?

The first mistake was not playing Sakho FFS. The second was Skrtel & Agger going MIA.

I thought we contained them pretty well until that Allen miss which should have been the knock out.
That miss gave them more motivation, and once they equalized the game became as end-to-end stuff.

And when we inevitably lose Suarez? He can't possibly be replaced.

Point being, we have two joint top scorers in the league. They've got all their eggs in one basket and that player's not even under a long term contract for them.
They lose Lukaku and they have to replace him with money raised elsewhere.
We replace Suarez with at least 50m, maybe something approaching Bale money from his transfer fee, and we also have Sturridge. Hopefully you'll realise there's a difference. A massive fucking difference.

We were poor against Swansea and Newcastle too, neither of them will make the top 6, our midfield is the weak link, its blatantly obvious at this point. We seem to spend the 2nd half of every game clinging on for dear life as our midfield drops further and further back. We desperately need midfield reinforcements in Jan
