Another 'one for the future' sold off. I thought this guy had the potential to make it.

Liverpool have accepted a six-figure bid from Swansea City for winger Paul Anderson, who has spent the entire season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Anderson, 20, was on loan to the Swans from Liverpool when they won promotion to the Championship in 2007/08, playing in more than half the league games.

Swans manager Roberto Martinez is also assessing other signing options.

"Paul is one of a number of options we are pursuing," chairman Huw Jenkins told the Swansea City website.

"Roberto has highlighted a number of players he is interested in and we have been pursuing them while he has been away scouting various players in various countries.

"The offer has been accepted by Liverpool, but it is still subject to us agreeing personal terms and Roberto sitting down with the player for further talks.

"Whoever we sign, we want players who want to play for Roberto and Swansea City.

"That attitude is vital - however good they are."

Swansea also said in a statement on the club website they believed Forest are keen to retain Anderson's services permanently.

I'd rather keep Hammill than Anderson, and it looks like that may be the case now aswell..

We're pretty crap at getting kids into the 1st team aren't we.

Lets just hold Insua can hold onto his spot.

He had a terrific season on-loan there (despite injuries) and so it's no season they're in for him. I'd have hoped we'd have got more than 6 figures for him though - he's young and would be one of the better players in that division so should command 1-2m.

Wouldn't it be nice to see Pacheco or another kid given a go against Spurs? I mean, we've basically got 2nd wrapped up on GD - surely we can see if one of the lads 'has it'

Would be nice, especially given he did really well when given a chance pre-season.

I only want to see Hyypia playing.

Not bothered about the kids.

Didn't we pay like a million quid for Anderson?
[/quote]

Swapped him for the "new Gerrard" John Welsh if i remember rightly.

Exactly - that was a disgrace. Hopefully Sami Lee will have some input in getting Hyypia onto the pitch.

As for Anderson I doubt anyone cares. He's never looked that promising and it's time for him to start his trade in the lower leagues. Good luck to him.

With Anderson on one wing, and Mark Gonzalez on the other, Rafa has addressed our wing issues for the next 10 years."

Good ole Tomkins.

;D

PAUL Anderson knows nothing about the fee agreed by Liverpool and Swansea City for his transfer.

Huw Jenkins revealed on Monday that Swansea had settled on a six-figure price for the former Liberty loan star.

But Anderson's father Phil says the player is in the dark over what has gone on between Swansea and the Anfield giants.

"We have had no contact with the clubs," he said.

"They may well have agreed something, but at this stage we are none the wiser."

Benitez has started to generate cash from his squad by agreeing a £1million fee for defender Jack Hobbs to stay at Leicester, where he has helped them to promotion from League One. Winger Paul Anderson will also join Swansea for a fee of around £750,000.

Sounds a little funny. Hobbs' contract is apparently coming to an end whereas Anderson signed an extension around a yr or 1.5 ago. (plus the 'myth' that attacking players usually cost more? 😛)
