As per Vlad:

[article]I have never seen such a player as Suarez his goals, skills , awareness , tenacity , competitiveness , hard work and child-like enjoyment of playing are fantastic. He now is the best player I have ever seen pull on a red shirt.[/article]

What is the consensus?

He makes it in to my top 6 attackers I've seen pull on our shirt, but i'm yet to be convinced that he's the best.

If I was forced to rank them i'd go with the following:

King Kenny
Rush
Barnes
Suarez
Fowler
Torres

If he continued this type of form for us (or another team) for a few more seasons, he'd be moving up my list.

I'm not taking the Best Player award away from the King yet, as he stood out equally but in an even better side.

If El Pistolero keeps on the way he's going, though, it's going to be difficult to deny him the accolade eventually.

Different eras.

Considering how much more difficult it is to score in the PL nowadays as a goal scorer he has no peer in our history (though Rushie was simply incredible over a sustained period of time).

As someone capable of going past people - Barnes.
For doing the gobsmackingly unbelievable - Suarez
For defending the ball - KK
For creating his own goals - tough one, KK or Suarez

Too many categories - make up your own !

For creating opportunities for others, as well as taking his own - KK. They all do/did it, but he made it an art form.

And I'm far from convinced it's harder to score now BTW. Defenders got away with massively more then than they do now.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

Yeah, just saw that. The fact that almost certainly some of them badly wanted to deny him the award makes it all the sweeter.

He's the most deeply immersed in his game player I've ever seen. The playboy bunnies could be shaking their boobs in the front row and I doubt he'd notice. I don't think he has much of a filter between his eyes and his legs either, it's all really instinctive or natural to him and barely thought about.

Ah no, I'd rate him higher than baros mate,
