You realise like half the league, probably more, will have had him as captain tonight, though?
In this league sure. I am in a few others and they certainly don't have him in. I am one happy FF player tonight!

Oh and I'm really pleased Liverpool won as well......😉

Remember when you got pissed at some of us for saying he was more technically gifted than Barnes?

OK, I'm back.
Just had to go back and look.

No, I was pissed that some said that he was better than Barnes, still don't think he's there yet but I do regard him as the most skilful striker we've had (Barnes midfielder) and one of our most technically gifted players.
Emotions are high right now considering that he just scored some great goals, so it might not be the right time to discuss this.

^^^^
Epic backtracking.

Never doubted his talent and the necessity to keep the player. But you have to ask - where was this superstar on Sunday ? how comes we lost to a team like Hull. I kind of expected us to win today based on the past results against them. But I also expected us to beat the likes of Hull - a game we had to win and should have won. So even though everyone is giving themselves high-fives and kissing each others cocks over the result, we are 7 points of the leaders. This team can do better and need to do better, coz I know we will end up losing against Chelsea, Spurs, United, and City - we are likely to lose to Spurs,City, and Chelsea both away and at home.

Fowler on MOTD: "I love him as a player but I'm starting to dislike him (Suarez) because he's making all the ex-Liverpool strikers look very very average".

sometimes youre just on form and others you arent, its one of those things

I never saw Kenny play 90mins live. I've only seen highlights and clips.
It's always difficult to compare a player from those days when football was played in a much lower pace but in horrid conditions (compared to today's standards) with a player from modern day football but Suarez is just worldly. How famous was Dalglish outside Britain?
Suarez is regarded as one of the best players in the world. His name is being mentioned alongside Messi and Ronaldo.

Fame is far more easily and widely spread these days than when Dalglish was playing so, in the same way it's futile trying to compare players of different eras, it's also futile comparing their perceived fame in order to rank them, especially since the PL is now broadcast all around the world whereas back in Kenny's day there was only Match of the Day on a Saturday night, and the FA Cup Final and European Cup finals were live. I think that was it for broadcast football, so worldwide fame was incredibly hard earned, and mostly done at World Cups, which Scotland weren't always present at.

I get what you're saying and I'm only commenting about the last bit and world cups. Scotland played in 74, 78, 82, 86, 90. Kenny played in 3 could have been 4.

Ooops. I must have fonder and more vivid memories of when Scotland stopped qualifying than those years when they did and England didn't (in 74 and 78). I stand duly corrected and humbled.

He's immense - What a goal(s)! The 3rd is my favourite. I've watched it a few times now - Lovely. 😎

Give me a min @Red Mullet. I'll try and find them. Normally I'd tell you to bugger off and find them yourself but they are that special they are worth the effort. 🙂

I was in the lakes this weekend and made a load of old dudes drop their pints when I said he was the best player we've ever had.

Someone asked me if they thought that Suarez was better than Torres as his peak... and I said, fuck off.. he's the best player ever to play for Liverpool.

Now I was kinda just saying it to do their heads in, but I kinda meant it too. Anyways, it did their heads in.
