Suarez not World Class - Hodgson

He didn't say it anyway, he said he needed to perform on the biggest stage to be considered a legend, so he did.

I know. I think I was the first to say that in this thread ! Just having a laugh before I cry.

EDIT - err no, I was about the 5th. Ah well, still said it 😉

I've skimmed through the thread so I'm not quite sure if this has already been mentioned but Suarez has already performed on the biggest stage.

Uruguay won the Copa America in 2011 and Suarez was voted best player of the tournament, 2nd top goal scorer with 4 goals plus scored and named man of the match in the final.

It may not be the World Cup but it's still a major international tournament.

Didnt he score 3 goals in 2010 when they reached the semi finals of the WC aswell?

His scoring record at international level is pretty much 1 in 2 I think, which is pretty good given that South America international football is a hard slog.

Well it's not the BIGGEST stage, then.

In fact it is not even a stage. It's just a stadium where you show up and do your job to the best of your ability. Only fantasists like Hodgson think of it as a stage for them to perform on as though its some sort of play.

Luis Suarez does not give a shit about world class and being a legend. His head is in the next game and helping his team win it.

Hodgson is the deluded fool sitting there pontificating about who deserves to be a legend of the game. His head is elsewhere.

And I guess you hope that all the LFC contingent come back utterly depressed and demoralised.

I doubt they'd be that arsed, I imagine it will be out of their heads pretty quickly. They've spent the last few months telling everyone they don't have a chance.

On the positive side, if Gerrard comes back and plays shit every week you'll be made up.

Not at all, as I support this club and want it to do well, rather than blow title leads at crucial times (odd how you failed to wield your painfully laboured snideness against all of the above who, unlike me in this thread, have pondered Gerrard's penchant for telling cock-ups. Back to sarcasm 101 with you.

That's because you've had it in for Gerrard all season, and for as long as I can remember.
