Sturridge

Kev certainly seems to find the onion bag with some aplomb.

Which is a good thing I suppose, since we are one of the few clubs who sign players whose YouTube compilations are the shittest and most depressing on the planet. I mean my YouTube clips are friggin awesome, I do all kinds of amazing stuff.

I remember watching Hendos before we bought him, his vid was around 4 mins long, and he mostly did nothing in it. Which would make it the most accurate video in history.

It's a simple concept. You slagged Dalglish off to high heaven for overspending on not great talent, now you are questioning buying Sturridge, a decision made by a manager you like. When can we expect the 'Rodgers is a useless cunt' posts?

When he becomes a useless cunt.

When's that then? When he hasn't won us a trophy? How many years? When his signings aren't doing the business? Are they doing the business now? When did you determine Kenny was a clueless cunt? Shall we set the same timeline?

This is a really bizarre point you're trying to shoehorn in here. You've drummed up an 'argument' out of frankly nowhere.

Dalglish spent a ridiculous amount of money on bad, ill-fitting players, had us playing antiquated football and produced woeful results as his outcome.

I don't think Rodgers can be compared to that (yet anyway). He's working under different circumstances and has been here for 4 odd months of football. If it all goes to shit, I'll comment on it then.

I fear where you're gonna take this bizarre tirade next.

I don't really see "weapon" as a compliment myself . In fact we must have already had the French one in Cisse .

Grameiro looks a good finisher. Like the idea of taking someone on loan and then seeing where we are at in the sunmer.

Gameiro is a good little player. Direct, pacey, quite skillfull and scores goals.
Can play on the wing or in the centre. I was advocating this signing in the summer.

Oh, and not accepting a ridiculous percentage of a future sell on fee is spot on imho.
They will probably back down.

Well, if Sturridge wants to be a Liverpool player he needs to tell his agents to either fuck off or to stop being so fucking greedy.

I fully approve of the club's stance. We've been ripped off for too long.

To be fair though, does anyone really believe that greed is just down to the agents? It seems a convenient way to lay blame for extortionate demands. I doubt the players are crying blue murder over their agents opportunism. It's rife throughout the game, greed and self-inflated ego. It's the side most of us loathe about it these days because, as Rodgers has said, it can take an edge off players. How many players have lit up smaller sides and then come here and acted like they've made it, without showing one ounce of deserving how generously we've rewarded them? Once upon a time the opportunity of pulling on the Liverpool jersey came first, above anything else. Now it's just like the top 6-8 teams are all just podiums of slightly differing heights for dickheads to prance around on, without any true sense of what the fuck it should be about.

then you obviously haven't watched sturridge very often.
I watched him often for Citeh and Bolton. He is a good player who will score goals IN MY OPINION. Just accept you have a different opinion and IF he signs (and there are no guarantees he will) get behind him and support him and the team. Just a thought.
I do enjoy that you know how often I watch football and what games or players I have seen.

You do know Glen rips into practically everything and has a polarised view on practically everything?

slight exaggeration as there's many players i rate highly and think deserve praise, i just say it how i see it. not denying that sturridge can score goals and that he seemed quite decent under AVB. Just saying his all round game is seriously average and doesn't offer much outside of scoring. For £12m i just think there's better value out there surely.

For the record i always support the players that play for liverpool. Don't believe in booing players and all that crap that i see many fans do. But sturridge isn't a liverpool player yet so just giving my opinion.

I'm not sold on Sturridge mate, but I also think people are being a bit harsh on his ability. What we're crying out for is someone to be selfish infront of goal and more direct, and he fits the bill in that sense.

Torres' all-round game is pretty average too. Total football is great, but if Sturridge does nothing but shit goals then I for one will be delighted with him. That is what we're lacking after all.

In that sense i can't disagree that is what he's all about. I just think its a huge gamble, and are we in a position to be taking anymore gambles right now??

Maybe that's all we *can* do if we're serious about getting back to the top, because we can't afford to buy instant star quality.

Given his club and England status, probably. If we didn't get Carroll in the last hours of transfer deadline day we wouldn't have paid anywhere near as much.

Rafa tried to sign him for £5m when he was manager at LFC but, as usual, 'the deal broke down'.

Quoting from Kanwar's site makes any point being made null and void 😉
the thing is though that lewandowski isn't going to come here when he's got top clubs in europe that want him. I'd love lewandowski, but realistically its not gonna happen. Nicol is just talking fantasy football stuff.
