Stoke away

I' not saying we should sack him, nothing near that but there has been no improvement at LFC other than a few of the youngsters coming through.

We lack the very basics of a top four club

Namely being defensively sound and having a manager whose tactics go beyond sideways passing.

B/c we're not a top four club yet ... We're not even close ... Anyone REALLY expecting this at season's start, even despite various good performances (be it against City, or Manure etc), was fucking deluded

The spine of Skrtel, Agger, and Lucas is frankly as big a problem as our lack of attacking options.

They're decent players in their own right, but they are still what they were bought to be - back-ups for three top-class players in Hyypia, Carragher and Alonso.

You don't get in the top 4 with a spine made primarily of back-ups. That's a mid-table spine, and it's not surprising that that's where we've ended for three consecutive seasons.

It's 3 a.m. I have a strong desire to cry.

Fill your boots mate. I'm welling up over here. Honestly, this is what I was talking about when I said we lacked steel. There's just no balls in this team at all. It's full of self-pitying, overpaid chancers.

Regardless, we shouldn't be getting spanked by Villa and Stoke. Team full of fucking shithouses we've got.

People REALLY, and I mean REALLY, expected things to turn around after the shit we did during the last two years of Rafa's reign and Kenny's horrific spending? Look at how much money we've paid absolute dross ... Sheesh ...

Whatever, we wanted an immediate turnaround. We didn't get it. Fire him and move on. If the next manager doesn't succeed after a year, fire him and then hopefully FSG will get bored, and sell.

We're better than this, though. The players we have are better than this. But we're not as good as some/most fans would have us believe.

Mate, the point I am making is with the players at his disposal, the money spent and importantly a fekin super duper world class player on the top of his game at his disposal we should not be where we are.AND we should not be getting bummed by shit teams like stoke every few weeks.

Don't you think you're being harsh on all three? They were excellent last year - and Lucas is still coming back off a long term injury + a short term injury. They're not Hyypia or Alonso or Carra, obviously, but they're not back ups either.

Is the right answer. Lucas was tidy enough, but Agger was pushing out all the time covering for him and leaving Skrtel isolated. There's no dominance from any of them, they're all ok at playing their bit, but none of them put their foot in and take control.

Avram I am not expecting wins every game. I just wished we could play with heart every game. Even if we do not have the best players we should have players who give their all while wearing the shirt. That's the frustrating part. This should stem from the manager. The players will give their all for a manager who knows what he's doing. So far it is hard to see this from both the players and manager.

The poor passing and lack of first touch has blown my mind tonight.
Utterly unbelievable that.
So fucking terrible.

Agger and Skrtel looked like they could be a decent centre half partnership last season though.

It takes time to mold a team - you saw Swansea last year, he had them playing football with players below the level of most of ours that was excellent. He's not come close to implementing that for whatever reason. I don't know if he'll succeed but people are posting here as if we really had a chance to finish top 4 ... We don't really have that. We had a terrible performance - and there are many issues. I'm not going to talk about solutions b/c that will get everyone saying (rightfully), "that same old story again".

He can't set up a team to defend. Without going into the very many other issues with BR that will be enough to get him the sack if he doesn't sort it out. And on that he has shown no signs of being able to rectify that little problem.

Well I''m sorry we all have to go through this shit. Lets hope we smash Harry fucking Redknapp and QPR this weekend.

Are we really blaming him for Skrtl's slip or the corner marking? Sometimes we've also got to hold the players accountable, or just tip our hats (Walters' third goal was excellent)

No blaming him for allowing shit teams score tons of goals against us, pretty much every few weeks.

Wiz, they've been here for 5 years. We've got about one good season from them each. That's not good enough. Especially for a team devoid of much attacking talent which is heavily reliant on its shape and dominance through the middle. We managed to be a top 4 team throughout the Rafa era (despite a general lack of attacking talent) because our spine was IMO as good as any in Europe. We've regressed to a team with not just inferior attacking talent, but a significantly inferior spine. It isn't surprising that we've been finishing where we have been.
