Stoke away

PS, I know he's a yard dog, but is it just me who rates Walters as a good battering ram and a pretty decent footballer?

I wouldn't want us anywhere near him, but he's a bit of a mare to play against.

Ahem, pre game. I think he's a much better player than many give him credit for.

Say anything about the state of our club, the shit football we play, the crap players we have and the rest BUT don't speak I'll of the LOTR. Don't.

LOTR is fucking fantasy bollocks. I'd rather watch the Stoke game twice, back to back than watch that.

With all the talk on our lack of strikers and ' attacking options ' maybe we should make fixing other areas a priority. In particular our piss weak center-midfield area and our back four who have shown such ineptitude doing the very basics that it makes you wonder what defensive coaching we do!

I am all for saying BR has had six months and needs more time but fek me people must have noticed the fact we have gone backwards in key areas. The manager has been helped by having a stable center half partnership in terms of his first choice center-backs being available, a right back who is showing some great form and a striker who is probably the best in Europe at this moment in time. Yet we STILL find ourselves in mid-table and looking defensively weaker than we have done for an age.

In fairness, we don't have the players to compete with the likes of Walters and Ethrington.

To think we thought we could just turn up with a squad of internationals and expect a half decent performance - they're all overpaid, talentless and shit. That's the problem!

What upsets me the most is not getting dry-humped by Stoke again, they are unbeaten at home for a reason, no what bothers me is when we get humped away at QPR next up.

This is the biggest cunt of a season of all time.

I think the only proper shit result lately was Villa. Other than that we've been ok. We're always crap against Stoke.

But what the fuck was Brenten doing leaving Suarez on?

Yeah, that was a concern. Seeing as we left him on it looked more like a knock than anything else.

I said to my mates in injury time yesterday that he's probably out of sundays game now.

Actually, to be fair, all the subs left me scratching my head.

Shelvey was the most obvious one.

Cole coming on against that lot?

Two down and Henderson for Lucas?

Suarez staying on to the end?

I guess we should have known it would be a day lacking in reason from the moment Webb pointed at the spot. Maybe the Mayan's were right, the world did end and we just didn't notice. 😵

The worst thing is, looking at the Opta stats we were better in pretty much everything, except the most important thing - finishing.
They scored 3 goals from 5 shots on target and got 70% of their shots on target.

Effective and took advantage of the mistakes we made.

We badly need a goalkeeper that can actually make some saves.

Someone else used to talk about moo points on here a few years ago. At least mute points doesn't make me think of cartoon cows.

*thinks about cartoon cows*

Last year, Wizardy mentioned how the best way to beat Barcelona was to pressure them higher up the pitch and to take advantage of your chances as it would cause them to lose the ball more often than not.

Stoke I think is the first team to do this to us - they pressured us high up the pitch effectively, and a 60% conversion rate of chances is first rate. I don't know how many teams are as disciplined as Stoke, but this is where Rodgers will have to earn his paycheck. We're not Barcelona (not enough talent, and only 2 - soon 3 - goalscoring threats in Gerrard & Suarez -> Soon Sturridge) - we cannot 'beat' teams currently (or ever?) with this system if they play us smart like Stoke did ...

We've lost a fucking shitload of games. I'm fed up of hearing only so and so has done this to us and so and so were the only ones to something else and we only lost cos someone slipped blah blah blah. It's simply not good enough.

So you want Rogers gone?

But of course.

Rodgers has had like nearly 20 games as manager of a team that scraped into the top half last season.

If he was any good he'd have taken that struggling team and turned them into an unstoppable force by now - just like all the other great managers have done in the past.

Wait...... 😳
