Do you think we'll ever see tackles like this again from Stevie? A lot of people love silky goals and skills, but nothing makes me more moist during a football match than tackles like these.

Gerrard Double Tackle on Jagielka

I know he's been injured and needs to look after himself a little more, but he's been pulling out of tackles lately when I'm expecting these!

wondered what this thread was going to be about and did it deserve a NSFW tag ;D

He seems incredibly listless recently. I hope he's jusy playing himself back to full fitness, but he was just strolling around during the match on Saturday.

I said after that first game back he was running on adrenaline & would crash. He has, he's getting back to fitness now, he'll probably be gradually improving & not fully fit until April unfortunately.

I'm glad you said it. Exactly my thoughts from Saturday. I've never seen him stand still with the ball as much as he did then. He seemed content to let Spearing do the running in front and behind.

You probably have a point there, but i just think Gerrard can't get up and down the pitch like a few years ago.

Once more, it's not the first time he's not turned up away at United so i don't think it's entirely down to fitness either.

Our midfield is a massive worry for me. Lucas is out for the season, Spearing's a squad player, Henderson's still very meh, Adam blows hot and cold, and Gerrard's not the player he once was.

And Meireles is in London.
And Aquilani in Milan.
And Cole God knows where, but there's a lot of French people around.

Can't beat a good crunching tackle.

Unfortunately its become more and more likely that you get a card for your troubles..

Skrtels on bale is the most recent example I can think of but there have been plenty high profile ones this season.

was I the only one nervous before opening the thread to look inside?

Seeing as Fox already posted much the same point above, I'd say no!

Nah he's clearly been told to leave some in the locker every match.

No hard tackles, no booming volleys; no tracking back, he sort of just floats about now. Its telling that we've played as well if not better without him on several ocassions this season.

Hopefully he will recover..
