State of the title race

When the AFCON starts we will become so much weaker. No Salah, No Mane and No Keita. Yes we with have Jota, but will the Ox, or Origi make up for the loss of Salah and Keita...? While Chelsea and City have so much quality in dept that the loss of one or even two players make any real difference to the team they can put out. I think not.
We on the other hand.
People are right though. We can not lose the title in October/Nov'. But January/Feb' we sure will
I agree with this. Usually our defence would have given me some hope but that also seems to be not so great this season so far.

We are scoring goals for fun but not sure if it is at the expense of some solidity around defence and midfield. I have not seen any heat map or any stats, but our midfield is clearly taking more risk this season compared to before. It is obvious Klopp knows this and hopefully he will sort it out before AFCON comes.

Can't believe we're three points off the lead and so many of you are being such utter fannies about our chances.
I know and its only November, its like people would believe we can only win the title if we are top of the table by Christmas. Thats only worked out for us once in 30 years.LOL

Forgot they will be involved in this

[article]Chelsea are facing a fixture concerns after FIFA announced the Club World Cup dates.

Thomas Tuchel will take his team to the United Arab Emirates for the tournament between February 3 and 12.

That means the Blues' games away at Brighton and at home to Arsenal will have to be rearranged.

Seven clubs will take part in the Club World Cup, the six winners of each confederation's continental cup and the UAE league champions.

Alongside Chelsea in the tournament will be Al Hilal, Al Ahly, Monterrey, Auckland City, Al Jazira Club and Palmeiras.

The Londoners enter the competition in the semi-finals, on the opposite side of the draw to Copa Libertadores winners Palmeiras.

Manchester City. It would be easy to praise their attack, but they are performing at historic levels defensively. Pep Guardiola's side are averaging just 0.62 Expected Goals Against per game, which would be the lowest average since Infogol started collating data in 2014.

Chelsea. Allowed an average of 0.68 Expected Goals Against per game in the 19 EPL matches after Thomas Tuchel took over last term - the foundation behind much-improved form. This season - 1.11 xGA per game, so something needs to change if they want to challenge for the title.

What about Liverpool?

We won’t win unless AFCON’s cancelled or if we buy Diaz or if Origi becomes SuperOrigi in Jan. Otherwise tough ask.

Not sure about that, you know.

I have to admit that I haven't quite kept up with when players leave, return etc but the AFCON doesn't work out to that many league games does it? We are talking Brentford and Palace, with a decent gap between them.

We do need a bit of luck with other forwards not getting ill or injured, and we would probably need to be disregarding the two domestic cup competitions (which I think most people would be happy to do) but it could be that the AFCON might not set us back in the league as much as we may fear.

That said, we are already in the position of waiting on City to slip up. Once they have got their noses in front, they don't tend to look like falling away.
