Since when have they signed Lamela and Pajnic? I imagine they'll get Willian, and get Contreau from Real in the Bale deal. They will have a very strong squad once they do, but they'll still be weak in the centre of defence for me, and they'll only really have Willian as a creative outlet. There squad will be on a par with United for me, but without the superb mentality, they're still behind both Chelsea and City for me.
I'm of the opinion that they are changing too much too quickly and should have just made a couple of changes to last years record points tally (with a very slow start). What happens to last years signings Sigurdsson and Holtby if all these transfers come off? Is there room for them? However, I suppose Bale has forced their hand somewhat if he is demanding a move.

Tottenham began spending Gareth Bale’s world record £85million transfer fee on Tuesday with stunning moves for Brazil winger Willian and Roma forward Erik Lamela.
Willian was in London finalising his £30m move from Anzhi Makhachkala after turning down a move to Liverpool. The 25-year-old, brought in to replace Real Madrid-bound Bale on the left, had a medical and was discussing personal terms last night.
The move for Willian will break Tottenham’s transfer record for a third time this summer, but their spending is not over. Spurs have al ready signed Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue and Paulinho in a staggering £60m spree.

Tottenham have travelled to Tblisi for their Europa League qualifier at the Dinamo Arena in Georgia tomorrow evening. By the time Villas-Boas and his team return to north London, Levy should have wrapped up the moves for Willian and Lamela.
Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has been charged with improper conduct and bringing the game into disrepute over comments about referee Mark Clattenburg after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat by Spurs. Holloway alleged: ‘Certain clubs get fouls and others don’t.’

Yeah their squad definitely lacks balance. I guess Lamela would count as an attacker in AVB's system, though, and Adebayor and Defoe are probably good as back up to Soldado.
It's odd that they haven't bought a centre half though, very odd. Did they really need Chadli? Spend that and and another £10m on a really good defender, and £20m on a less extravagant alternative to Willian, and they'd have been much better off IMO.

Come on mate ... we were kidding ourselves in thinking we could win Europe ever again after the 80s ... we were kidding ourselves we could land a player of Suarez caliber, or Coutinho's .... we were kidding ourselves if we thought we could beat Milan after being down 3-0 at half time ... Football isn't about paper, it's about a team playing on the pitch and the magic that may create. Call me an idiot, but I think something is happening within our team and Rodgers has us on the right path. We may not be ready this year - though I'm still a member of the DA - but Spurs are relying very heavily on one player for goals (Soldado) and have lost a guy who won them EIGHT games last year (nothing against Willian, Chadil or even Lamela) - but they're not going to do that. There's always a chance ... ALWAYS. I'd rather start the season blindly optimistic than be miserable from day 1.
