It's an unfair comparison but primarily because Torres was considered a world class talent at the same age and if we had someone like that, they'd be getting more game time than Solanke.
Some players can't be held back because the have undeniable raw talent at a young age (e.g. Owen, Gerrard) whereas others have to rely on luck and other factors to break through.
I actually do think Solanke got something about him based on the very little I've seen of him but he appears to fall into the latter category. It's really hard for a player like that - particularly up front - to break through at a big club. Solanke has already got first hand knowledge of that from his time at Chelsea (though youth generally struggle there). If you're going to make it, you have to take your opportunities when they come your way.
Klopp doesn't seem to rate either Ings or Sturridge and we have very little depth beyond those guys so Solanke has had some opportunities. Has he done enough to convince Klopp that he deserves the #2 spot next season? Perhaps he's been amazing in training and they've seen enough behind close doors to convince them that the answer is yes. Based on what we've seen on match days, it'd be a firm no.
As with many youngsters we've wasted / ruined / whatever before him, he needs to be somewhere where he can build himself up in a team that wants to play him week in, week out. I don't see what he's gaining by being at Liverpool right now - or us for that matter.
