Solanke - Liverpool striker?

He plays for the U-20s, U-21s and U-23s, kids his age group?

The other kids in the u21s etc that haven't developed physically yet. He monsters them at a level where technique isn't as important.

He's fucking dreadful at PL level where everyone is as big and strong as him, if not more so, and where people can actually control a football.

Nah, I dont think so. You could say that he isnt developed yet either.
He hasnt been good enough and he has a long way to go, but there is no point in giving up on a young kid just yet.
I think his touch and match fitness is lacking because of such a limited playing time as well.
Get him a good loan move next season and see how he develops. There isnt any risk regardless.

He just scored the winner for England U-21s playing against older players fwiw.

Nah I think he's awful.

He came to us because we promised him games. Hopefully next season he's shipped off somewhere and we've got genuine competition for Bobby.

Not seeing anything in him technically or skill-wise to make me think he will be a first team player one day for us. These days most players are close at that age, look at Gomez and TAA, I don’t think he’s anywhere near their skill level for his position. TAA can hold his own against top level forwards, Solanke looks like a little lost boy against any defenders he’s been up against, and he’s not physically that much smaller than them.

TAA held his own against Sane, but let’s not forget how lost he’s looked when facing traditional wingers this season. Or in two of his last three games.
That said, I think Solanke’s pretty shite.

I can appreciate that he needs a run of games but he won't get that here and didn't show enough today to indicate he deserves it at this level. A loan for next season would be good.

He's never scored a Premiership goal. And the fact we're asking the question about whether or not Origi is better, says it all.

It's a fucking joke that he's even playing a derby for a Top 4 club.

He looks really bad unfortunately.

0 goals in 23 appearances. Origi scored 21 goals for us in 86 appearances.

I know who I'd rather have.

It's not even a question. Currently, Origi is well better. That's a damning indictment. This spaz has made 22 appearances for us and hasn't looked like he knows what a football is.

jesus, dude. did he push in front of you at the pictures?
i've seen a dog with a bone that had less focus.

He's a kid. He needs time and experience. I think he's got good potential, his height could offer us something different when we've mainly got very mobile midgets, and he's shown at international level he's got a range of shots on him. Be patient.
Precisely.

He needs a goal alright, but his all round play shows promise. He'd benefit from a season on loan somewhere (high achieving Championshiop side or something).

If most people think he needs a loan, then he’s finished at this club, as we don’t have loaners ever come back and establish themselves, we always try and sell them ASAP after

Ha, i just think he's really shit. And we'd probably have 4 more points if he hadn't started both derbies.

He started the season looking quite useful and seems to have regressed.

It’s all well and good saying he’s young and needs time but when you move to a big club you need to take your opportunities when they come. He’s not had loads of game time but he’s had a enough chances to show a little more than he has.

As things stand, he’s looking more like a player that needs to be nurtured elsewhere than one who can break through given limited opportunities. Maybe if he got a goal or two that might spark some life in him but I don’t think we can afford to count on that next season.

He needed to score or assist today to kick on.. Both him and Ings aren't good enough to kick us on to the next level

I expect Solanke to go to Bournemouth and Ings to go to Southampton.

Id expect Ings move to be permanent though, hes 3 years into a 5 year contract and he looks further from being a first team player than he did when we signed him.

Despite missing a good chance I thought he played quite well yesdy...

It would be nice if either of our support strikers actually popped up with a goal tho...

I like Ings and his attitude on the pitch, Solanke has hardly done anything yet has he...

But then he is still learning the ropes...

This is a joke, surely?

Sorry, I'm sure he'll go on to be a superstar, he has all the attributes to become one. And he's just an all-round good egg.

It's not just four starts though, is it?

Why aren't we more excited by Solanke?

He's shown absolutely nothing to merit the game time he's got. All he's done is take Origi's spot in the squad, looking like a downgrade in the process, and taken the minutes from another kid with more potential.

It isn't knee-jerk with Solanke. He's shown nothing in 23 appearances.
